In-form City striker Matty Fryatt bagged his second man of the match in as many games after another hat-trick condemned Southend to defeat and cemented Leicester's position at the top of League One. Fryatt took his goal tally to 22 and his man of the match count to six beating strike partner Steve Howard to the top spot with Matt Oakley's making the top three on his return to the midfield after injury.

There were also good marks after solid performances from Kerrea Gilbert on his return from a lengthy injury, Jack Hobbs on his return to the central defence after being shoved out to the right and a special mention should be reserved for Chris Powell who on his 750th appearance put in a performance which belied his age. Bruno Berner was voted City's poorest player on the day but it was still a respectable mark from the Swiss international on a day where City rarely looked troubled.

I decided against removing the flop of the match title - it's all a bit of fun really and for the community so I can't see the harm of keeping it in. It brings about a bit of debate if nothing else. If it's true that the players do look at these (which I very much doubt) then they should use it as a motivator.

Well the match average fell right between two sets of marks so both had to be included but even so there were quite a few.

oi thought king deserved more than a 6.66, i thought he played really well sat, best game he's had for a while. Apart from that the rest makes sense

Lots of people thought he played well but he has his knockers who wouldn't rate him however he played. I thought it laughable that Davies finished above him. I like Davies, he seems to have some football in him.

But he's a new lad and almost every time we get a new signing that get ridiculopusly overrated. Davies played a quarter of the match or thereabouts. It was a cameo appearance and it is comparatively easy to look bright for 20 minutes as opposed to 90.

Had he genuinely influenced the outcome with a goal, an assist or a last ditch in terception I could understand it but he didn't. He just showed some decent touches and a willingness to be positive. King controlled central midfield and broke up the Southend moves which immediately preceded two of our goals if memory serves.

His overall contribution was considerable - and over 90 minutes, something that Pearson, at least, seems to appreciate because I don't think the lad has been susbtituted once this season when he's started.
