Carlisle United 1-2 Leicester City
13 December 2008

City striker Steve Howard claimed his third man of the match award of the season and his first for two months by winning the votes of the fans at Carlisle on Saturday. Howard has struggled to match Matty Fryatt's ratings throughout the season but did so at Brunton Park after an assist helped him to win the fans' acclaim. Howard was followed by midfield maestro Andy King who will be pleased to see himself at the right end of the chart with consistent performer Matt Oakley rounding off the top three.

Goalkeeper David Martin was the least popular of the City players with an average performance of 6.12 putting him at the bottom of the ratings table whilst winger Lloyd Dyer and fellow Liverpool loanee Jack Hobbs rounded off the bottom three.

Thanks to all who voted, more than I expected for such a long trip. A real variety again in the opinions of the fans who went and that makes this what it is so please keep voting. I am hoping to do 'half-season' awards based on the first 23 games once that many have been played so if you have any suggestions for awards that you would like to see, let me know.

Didn't think Martin was the worst, and Oakley was better than King, but hey, that's life.

Good to hear people are not rating him as bad as the few who slate him on here. I haven't been to any league games but he seems to be playing a crucial part in the team's success.
