Never mind the Christmas No. 1, the real result that the world is waiting for is who is going to be celebrating a player-ratings.com man of the match award over their Christmas turkey? It was a close run thing but Aleksandar Tunchev just pipped Steve Howard to collect his seventh man of the match award of the season.

Tunchev was on top form to keep the high profile strike partnership of Aaron McLean and Craig Mackail-Smith at bay in the 4-0 victory and there can be no doubt that Steve Howard would have sacrificed the man of the match award for a goal before the game. His fine strike was his first goal since October and ensured that he was a very close runner-up. Third place went to captain Matt Oakley who just stole ahead of 23-goal striker Fryatt and on loan midfielder Mark Davies.

There were no poor performances from those who started and this reflects in a scoreline which helped Leicester move four points clear at the top of League One.

It was such a good performance that it was difficult to give one person man of the match. Tunchev got it which is fantastic, and if it was Howard or Oakley I wouldn't have complained either.

Tunchev was amazing, but it still irks me a little that a defender get's man of the match in a game where we showed our most devastating attacking prowess for the first time this season at home.
