Leicester City 2-1 Hereford United
28 December 2008

On loan midfielder Mark Davies continued to make a good first impression with the City fans by claiming his first man of the match award in City's 2-1 win against Hereford United at the Walkers Stadium. Davies along with Steve Howard, Matt Oakley and Andy King comfortably outshone their team-mates with goals from Howard and King no doubt helping their cause.

David Martin will be relieved not to be voted as the flop for the fourth consecutive game with the unwanted title going to Paul Dickov. The veteran's half of football did not impress the City fans. Lloyd Dyer and David Martin will no doubt also be disappointed to once again find themselves in the bottom three.

Davies' is a beast.

Does Martin ever get out of the bottom 3? He seems to be a regular down there alongside Lloyd Dyer lately.

Beaumont Fox is again the harshest voter. Is she very hard to please?

Davies wasn't at his best on Saturday and still got MotM? Wow. I thought he was good but that one sprint through the middle that didn't come to much was the only massively impressively thing he did. I can't believe I'm saying this but I thought King was much more influential and while he missed a few shots the willingness to have a go was admirable.

Reminds me of Michael Carrick but slightly more willing to have a shot, which is probably why he seems a bit quiet a lot of games. If you watch him for any considerable length of time he's right in the mix.
