Tunchev Storms To Fourth Monthly Award
December Awards
Citys Bulgarian superstar Aleksandar Tunchev claimed his fourth consecutive player of the month award after his three performances were good enough to oust the marks of his team-mates. Despite claiming the headlines, Matty Fryatt did not make the top three but his strike partner Steve Howard claimed second place and midfield captain Matt Oakleys consistently good performances saw him finish third.
Fryatt did however claim the best performance of the month with his hat-trick against Southend earning him the first 9+ rated performance of the season. Tunchev and Howard claimed runner up and third place for their performances in the 4-0 win at home to Peterborough.
The Peterborough game was unsurprisingly rated as the best team performance during December. An indication of the quality of performances that City have put in this month was highlighted with a victory being rated as the worst performance of the month Citys 2-1 win over Hereford at the Walkers Stadium.
After being last months most inconsistent player, Andy King was voted Decembers most consistent performer. Lloyd Dyer also made the top three for most consistent after also being on the most inconsistent list for November.
Dyer unfortunately collected the December flop of the month title after seemingly struggling to reproduce his early season form. David Martin was only narrowly better than Dyer and Bruno Berner rounded off the bottom three. The averages were in no way as bad as in previous months however and if City continue to aspire to this level, it can only be good for the promotion push.

Yes, that's what I am worried about. The guy is absolute quality & scouts/managers from Championship & Premier will have noticed how good he is. Hope MM tells them where to go if anyone puts a bid in for him.

it may be one reason to be thankful for the credit crunch. Apart from Man City there doesn't seem to be endless amounts of money about according to the reviews in the papers. The biggest threat might be if one or two of Wolves better players are snapped up by Prem clubs and they then have money to spend lower down
