Whilst being the most consistent player during September, Gradel also picked up the flop of the month award.

Clear to see from reading this who our star players have been, Oakley, Dyer and Fryatt.

Good work Sheff.

Surprised that Stevenage was November's best team performance, thought that would have been Scunthorpe.

Great work Sheffield_fox, much valued contributor

anyone ever stopped to think that if Tunchev was just some guy we picked up from the lower leagues we wouldn't love him so much?

No matter how well the other defenders play I think most of the praise always seems to be for Tunchev. Quite ironic actually as he can't speak much English and I'd imagine it's Hobbs back there that's organising things.

I thought it'd been determined that Tunch had learnt English really well so far?

Would he be as good though? We love him because he reads the game so well and plays it simple.

nicely done.. just two things though..
1)If in August/September Lloyd Dyer was midfielder of the month and best individual performances of both months, why was he also been put as the most inconsistent in August/September.
2)Max Gradel... September how can he be Flop of the month and Most consistent. (or are you trying to say he was consistently rubbish ) ???

Both statistical quirks by the looks of it.

For example with Max Gradel if he is consistently bad then he is still most consistent... Same principle works with the Lloyd Dyer situation (he can play amazingly in one game but then awful the next making him inconsistent yet still giving the best performance of the month).

Great, great work sheffield_fox. Keep it up!

I think this has already been well answered but just to re-iterate, consistency at least in this context has no relation to quality of performances. It is simply a measure of how close to each other a specific players' ratings have been. Matty Fryatt can put in two great performances and two mediocre performances and that would give him every chance of being the most inconsistent performer.

In the case that you state with Gradel, yes his performances in that particular month were low but consistently low. It should help fans to see that he didn't put in one or two bad performances, they were consistently poor and this gives a truer impression to those who didn't go to the games.

We need to find out what Max Gradel was easting and drinking !
Earlier on he was brimming with confidence, taking people on, crossing, shooting.
Later performances swung to the opposite end of the spectrum.

Interesting stats.

There's an interview on LCFC World with the Tunch and he seems to have picked it up fairly well.

Hobbs is very inconsistent, and if anything spent the first month living off the 'Liverpool affect'. He is however young and started to put in some improved performances of late. It is however imo no conicidence that he was 'flop of the match in 2 of our worst performances (against Brighton and Rotherham) and not in the best 11 (for average performance). I fear we would be in a very perilous position if Hobbs was organising the defence because it has been his apparent lack of compossure and mistakes that have put us in most danger of losing points (imo). However I do believe the run in the side has started to see an improvement in his performance in the last 2-3 games.

I think he's looked fine when played at centre back. The games you highlight are the ones where he's been played out of position at right back.

Maybe but I still don't think it can be suggested that he is more influencial in organising our defence than Tunchev. Tunchev played a few games at left-back and didn't get the flop of the match and was played whilst injured against Leeds.

Anyway was a rant and proberbly over critical because I disliked the first part of the season when people (imo) over praised Hobbs because of his Liverpool conection. I am actually quite pleased with him of late to be fair and think playing in the team regularly has helped settle him down.

Top work Sheff_fox.

Hobbs at CB is better than Morrison in my opinion, and Davies instead of Adams. Other than that I agree with the starting XI

Interesting results, Sheff_fox! Fancy another challenge? Could you also work out the 'most agreed on' player? So the player that has received the most similar rating by voters?

It's one I'll consider for the future, don't know if I have the facility to work this out now but it's a good suggestion.
