Leicester City 0-0 Crystal Palace
3 January 2009

After winning the December monthly awards and being voted the best player of the season so far, Aleksandar Tunchev won his third award of the week by being voted the best player in the FA Cup 3rd Round tie against Crystal Palace. In a dour game dominated by defences, it was Tunchev who caught the eye with striker Steve Howard claiming runner up despite being the lone striker and Mark Davies once again making the top three in what could possibly be his last game for the Foxes.

Lloyd Dyer's poor run of form continued as he was voted the worst player in the City side against Neil Warnock's side. Bruno Berner and Max Gradel were the only other players on the field long enough to be in contention for this award.

Thanks great work matey.

Only thing is, that i thought that Davies was miles better than Tunch, i also thought that at times Alan Lee had Tunch in his pocket at times.

Yeah i agree with that, Davies was best player, and i thought Hobbs had a better game than Tunchev

As with you Joey, I thought that whilst Tunchev had a good game, Hobbs was better. I was very surprised to see Hobbs' overall mark below a 7. Enough people voted that way to suggest that is not the general consensus though.

Hobbs distribution is still wayward with many clearances going almost vertical. As for Davies he was considerably less influential playing further forward.

I should have added that Davies was better than Dickov up front.

Thanks but surely there's a bit of irony in there...

And I do chip in to other threads when I feel the urge.

Davies is still new and shiny, people like what he does because its new and exciting. He looks a hell of a player but he's really not as good as these ratings or the last lot, in fact.
