Leicester City 0-0 Oldham Athletic
7 February 2009

Leicester goalkeeper David Martin won his first man of the match award of the season after keeping a clean sheet against a good Oldham side at the Walkers Stadium on Saturday. Martin's performance was eclipsed by that of Dean Windass in the opposite goal but should not miss out on the praise after some good saves kept the score at 0-0 and earned Nigel Pearson's side another valuable point in the hunt for promotion.

Michael Morrison and Jack Hobbs who seem to have become top three regulars in recent weeks, were the only other players who mildly impressed the City fans in what was a frustrating game for the fans at the Walkers and Sky viewers alike.

Lloyd Dyer failed to put in a performance that pulled him out of his rut, and was voted City's worst player once again by the fans who went to the game. Sky viewers had other ideas and the award went to Fryatt whose missed penalty ultimately cost City the three points.

Good work again.

Nice to see the MOTM awards being spread out.

Glad to see that Morrison is getting in the top 3 most weeks, shows a run in the team is giving him confidence

Made two vital saves, from a header and when Hughes was clear. He played well.

Oh, I remember now, but still wouldn't be quite my MOTM lol

I thought Hobbs was outstanding again and Morrison had an absolute blinder, had Hughes in his pocket. King and Oakley were preety non-existant.

Is this the same Morrison who nearly conceded a penalty and went walkabout on several occasions in the second half?

Yes, no prob. The guy had an outstanding game, totally commanded his area & made excellent saves when called upon. We must sign this guy as a permanent player on the City books.

His contract at Liverpool ends this season, & he has already stated that he wants to stay at City.
