Hi everyone,

This is my first post on here, but I do regularly read what's going on!

I have an update about Dave Henson's brilliant song 'Heroes in Blue and White' which I've been helping him to record so it can be played at the Walkers in the near future.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFY1...

We have made most of the song, and Dave came to the studio yesterday to record his vocals for the track - it's sounding great. It looks like the track will get a first play on April 4th against Carlilse. Just a few finishing touches to be made - guitar parts, mixing etc.

We have decided it would be good to get a crowd of Leicester fans to sing on the chorus if possible, and thought it would be nice to open it up to you guys, who've helped make the song so popular.

I have access to a recording studio in Nottingham where I'm on a university course and have a session booked next Wednesday 25th March which I'd like to use for the chorus recording.

It would be great if a handful of people could make it up to Nottingham to sing and be involved. The only issue is that the session runs from 9pm - Midnight. I appreciate that this is late, and train timetables might get in the way for some people.

For those who'd like to be involved, it would be great if you could arrive at 9.30pm, and I guess the recording itself won't take more than 1 - 1.5 hours.

If you're interested and could make it to Nottingham on the 25th, message me and I'll get some more details to you.

Cheers,

JP

Yeah, it'll be at Confetti Studios... I'm gonna need some confirmation messages from everyone attending a few days before so I can sign everyone in. Do you know where it is?

Unfortunately they have requested the DJ Campbell lyric to be changed, which it has for the stadium version. However, we did record that verse should there come a time the song is released for charity. But that's all a long way off, and we'll have to see what happens.

I think most people will understand and tolerate a 'stadium version' just as long as the original version doesnt dissapear and is somehow released for the clubs chosen charity - The stadium version, Original Version and maybe the original Version with backing music on one CD is what i think most people would like to see.

Make sure the club don't take over it mate.

It would be a shame if they did, because this has some real quality and originality about it

I imagine they've asked for the Pat Kisnorbo's distribution bit to be removed as well?

Yeah we have kept it roughly the same, but with some added instruments for a bit more interest for the stadium version. There's also some added lyrics based on what some other fans requested Dave to do. These players include Banks, Shilton, Peake and Zagorakis.

They didn't say anything about the 'Pat Kisnorbo's distribution' line, so that stays in.

But don't panic people, Dave and I have worked closely on this to make sure it sounds good and keeps the character of the original. The club needed a new recording of it for it to played at the stadium.

Once again, anyone that wants to be involved on the chorus parts and can make it to Nottingham for 9.30pm next Wednesday 25th, send me a message for details. I'll need to gather a list of people beforehand, and can't just let people in that we're not expecting.

Thanks

Is the tune itself a borrowed one? If so do the club know this and are there any copy right issues?

Yeah, Dave did it as a parody on Billy Joel's 'We Didn't Start the Fire'. The club are aware of that and it's fine to play it at the stadium, but we are looking into the copyright issues should it be available for a charity download.
