MC Prussian Posted 28 March 2015 Share Posted 28 March 2015 Professional driver Jann Mardenborough, who made his entry to the racing world through a video game contest a few years ago, crashed his Nissan GT-3 at the Nürburgring today, killing a spectator in the process: Looks like a case of faulty aerodynamics to me. Cars like that are supposed to be glued to the circuit.

Sir Fynwy Posted 28 March 2015 Share Posted 28 March 2015 Some of these cars are on an aerodynamic knife edge, like a wing you can get lift or downforce
yorkie1999 Posted 28 March 2015 Share Posted 28 March 2015 I've been round the nurburgring on my bike and there's loads of quick uphill and downhill sections, it looks like he's took off form a crest and the air's got under the car. Scary stuff. i remember going round a fast right hander up hill and meeting a bus load of tourists stuck on the hill with no warning flags. That makes your sphincter twitch. You also get spectators in your line of site waving newspapers and stuff trying to distract you at various hotspot corners.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 28 March 2015 Share Posted 28 March 2015 Reminds me of this RIP to whoever got taken out though, any news on the driver too? Well in the video he's out the car walking about, so can't be that serious.
isaidno Posted 28 March 2015 Share Posted 28 March 2015 The car just took off. Not seen anything like that since the Webber Le Mans crash. Amazing that Jann escaped unhurt.
