Thoughts on Swansea

Recommended Posts

As expected really. Tidy football side and they showed that when they dominated for 20 mins or so in the second half when our intensity dropped. Couldn't cope with our endeavour for the rest of the game though, didn't want it nearly as much as us

Sigurdsson and Shelvey were quality - it's very disrespectful to say that they were the worst to visit this season. Villa looked like a Championship side all day long, Sunderland stunk the place out and how West Brom escaped with all three is beyond me.

Swansea struggled to cope with our pace, determination and willingness to go for the jugular, but if you go back to September, so did the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United.

As for their fans, I only heard them a couple of times but 1,500 Swans fans aren't going to be heard in the cacophony the fans created today.

What about Newcastle in the cup? Hope theya re that bad when we play them in a few weeks, penultimate home match.

On their current form, I wouldn't be surprised.

If we play like we did against Swansea, they'll melt.

Nar - we should be looking at Swansea (and Southampton) with ambition of where we want to be.  They had injuries, little to play for and were up against a team fighting for their lives and we played very well.  Bit pointless to judge them on today.

No Gomis (+ Bony), and tbh wrong formation / tactics from Monk, Montero should have started, think the Swansea fans unanimously agree with that.

Can't, just can't diss Swansea, because we were on our A game today, and with a bit more composure, should really have won by a few more, out goal scoring opportunities were 10x what they managed to create.

This was one of the biggest turn around performances i've seen following the reverse fixture, Swansea killed us at their place and that was the first indication of our defensive and midfield frailties which have been exploited since; but to play them again with that kind of performance, astonishing. That was 100% Leicester City playing, and winning, not Swansea being off-form.

Yep, if we can say that we've won a trophy, played in Europe, play some of the best football outside of the top four, never even think about relegation and do all of it without breaking the bank and manage to make a profit in four years, I'm pretty sure everybody on here will be happy.

Their quality wasn't bad (and dare I say, they looked a little more comfortable on the ball than us) but they certainly couldn't cope with our drive and determination. They just looked like they weren't bothered in the slightest, and we destroyed them for it.

Knock it about nicely but no real threat today. It wasn't a true reflection of them to be fair. Their fans were doggo though

Heard them once with Hymns and Arias.

As I said though, our fans were ridiculous today. Ludicrous amounts of noise.
