Recommended Posts

Alan Shearer, Danny Murphy, Dion Dublin, Jason Roberts.

I'm not being funny but would these be pundits on the BBC if they had hair on their heads? They offer nothing whatsoever.

Hahaha. Ent got a clue. You think they put jason roberts alongside lawrenson because of his great football Knowledge?

You appear to have missed my point .

What difference should the colour of their skins make and why are you raising it?

I likened bald headedness to skin tone, because it should have about as much bearing (ie none) on an assessment of their punditry skills.

Plenty of poor pundits atm. I don't think those names are much worse than some of the others out there. To offer a couple of counter examples I think Ian Wright and Ruud Gullit are decent enough.

Think you ought to have a bit more to back yourself up if you're going to make claims like that.

I don't care what colour there skin is, as long as it's good analysis. Bbc go out of there way to be multi cultural and not appear to be sexist. They don't care how good or bad the content is as long as they don't have a fully white lineup too often.

If you don't know this then you're living on another planet.

If Top gear continues i can guarantee the new presenter will be a woman. Its the way the BBC works.

Jenas has annoyed me throughout the season but hes improved the last few weeks, was strange to me he was popping up on ITV one day and then BBC the next.

Murphy has be dumbfounded with his predictions, I'm sure he said during the World Cup that Spain would win it after Holland smashed them.

Its all down to personality really and how they come across to an average observer, the ones that stand out to me are the ones who have potential to lob chairs (Hansen/Keane), the ones who offer genuine insight into the game and what a footballer makes of it all(?) and your specialist experts(Tim Vickery).

Race doesnt come into it and shouldnt, maybe more people appreciate Roberts than dont, they just dont feel the need to jump on Facebook/forums and chat about it

So, if they discriminate against whites like you claim, then why do Southgate and Shearer keep getting jobs? Could it be you're chatting out your 'arris?

Southgate is the England under 21 manager. And he had a hugely successful and famous football career. As did shearer.

Jermaine jenas and jason roberts? Not only are they awful pundits, they also had average careers. Why do they deserve to be a football pundit?

Slightly unrelated point but I really like it when they bring journalists on MOTD. Regularly better than a lot of the ex-pros - always have wide knowledge about many aspects of the game and are able to articulate themselves much better.

Agreed. Patrick barclay is really interesting to listen too. He knows his onions.

Yeah I think Jason Roberts and Danny Murphy are two are the better pundits the BBC have. Though Pat Nevin is still the best.

Can't believe anyone would use Mark Lawrenson or Alan Hanson as an example of a good pundit though. They both just moan, put football in very simplistic terms and don't even care about their own ignorance of foreign players and tactics during World Cups/Euros. If Andy Townsend didn't exist they were the two worst pundits on TV.

Jason Roberts is that good he said that Newcastle should never have sacked Alan pardew on MOTD last night. They didn't.

So he makes a mistake and you comment on the colour of his skin?

I don't remember when Phil Neville or Jonathan Pearce delivered their much talked about woeful performances with a microphone in hand that anyone raised the colour of THEIR skin.

Why do you think that is?

Seems like you have an agenda here, and an unpleasant one at that.

Jermaine Jenas is well spoken without offering any real insight

Pundits generally dont. They mostly just confirm what we already knew but with the ability to compare it to a real life experience.

Jenas is one of the better ones.
