He's only got 8 assists though. So has some lad called Eden Hazard as well... He's not good enough with a fully fit England squad. However, with the state of the squad as it is (u21s and injuries), I can fully see why he's got a call up. He'll prove everyone wrong just like he's proven lots of us wrong. Problem with him playing at international level is the tempo won't suit his style, unless Roy decides to bring in a high tempo, energy based plan. Fantastic news, why do people seem to think caps are precious things only to be given out to the elite? These games are against Ireland and Slovenia, not exactly the World Cup semi-finals. A great opportunity to stamp his mark and if it doesn't work out then the experience alone for him will be so memorable. He's the epitomie of this team for me. Welbeck's got 4 PL goals this season. We have the biggest England prospects in a competition atmosphere of the Under 21s. Half of these idiots don't think before they type on twitter. The same number of goals as Welbeck and up there in the assists table. Then there's his work rate as a bonus.
