Absolute hero. One of this Countries greatest songwriters. Too many great songs to choose from. Lyrically he's amazing.

Seen him supporting the who, as much as I love weller and the Jam I thought that his performance was boring, the crowd didn't seem lively at all, although was good when he performed jam songs and that's entertainment with miles Kane!

Agree with that, was disappointed with The Who tbh, was expecting a bit more

I thought the Who were excellent given their age. Remember Daltry and Townshend are 70 now. Set list was brilliant as well, only left out a couple of singles. As for Weller, thought he was good too although his Jam songs always get everybody going. They'd make a fortune if they reformed, just like the Smiths would and Johnny Marr was excellent too. Number of Smiths records included he did.

I think that's always the problem when theres a varied line-up at a festival type gig, that's why i don't like them, I prefer to see bands in smaller arenas, sounds better, atmosphere's better etc....   The who for example were amazing in nottingham.

Nice speech by Townshend at Hyde Park where he emphasised the importance of Weller and The Jam in his own bands longevity and resurgance, I was one of those who got into The Who because fellow Jam fans had the patches on their Parkas and would lend me the records.

Wellers work ethic and desire to keep on trying new things and play his new material is rewarding to fans who follow the progression although it can surprise casual observers who just expect 20 of his 60+ singles. Just wish he'd played "Ever Changing Moods" or "Shout To The Top" to add a bit more variety (in terms of sources) to the set but it was the kind of set I'd expected and enjoyed hearing the new material live for the first time. Was hoping he'd appear on stage later with Townshend as he did at a Royal Albert Hall Who gig several years ago to perform "So Sad About Us" but was still special to have both on same bill.
