Lcfc plane tracking topic

Recommended Posts

How do you get a GPS signal on a plane? I've had mine plastered to the window and never get a sniff of a signal.

I did alright when we flew to Glasgow a while back. Satnav489.jpg

and to add, a  mate who lives north of leicester has one of flight24 aerials/receiver things on his roof.

Not all airlines are on it, just the ones who allow their planes.

Not true. All planes that have a mode s capable transponder and are ads-b capable are on it. Which is pretty much all commercial airliners. They only appear where flight radar have ads-b receiver coverage. In America a law restricts them from showing real time track of planes and hence they are shown on a 5 minute delay.
