queensguardfox Posted 19 September 2015 Share Posted 19 September 2015 With Pearson on sky sports tomorrow, Where is Pearson going to pop up next? Sunderland? Newcastle? Villa? Wednesday? I cant see dick, captain bellend or wolly with the brolly lasting a season, thoughts? I'm thinking any off the bottom 3 at Christmas would surely be begging for him! this is not a Pearson love off or a slagging off thread just if anyone has any gut feelings on where he could go. Greg2607 Posted 19 September 2015 Share Posted 19 September 2015 Given the past history at Newcastle and the fact that Ashley likes things run on a tight budget, finding cheap gems to sell on at a profit........pearson there, with Walsh.....could be a decent match. Nick Posted 19 September 2015 Share Posted 19 September 2015 Newcastle at Christmas would mean a fantastic payout for umbrella boy. Not sure it'll happen with the money the chairman has spent. I'm not sure he'd keep Villa or Sunderland up to be honest - I'd go Leeds or Wenesday if he is sensible but due to the lure of the Prem if I had to make a decision, it would be Sunderland. Edit: when I say sensible, the Leeds decision would only make sense if. A change in ownership occurs.

I think Sunderland would be the most obvious one. And he'd do a job there with a squad that HAVE got some decent players but who are bereft of any confidence. Nick Posted 19 September 2015 Share Posted 19 September 2015 Pearson would transform Newcastle into the team they should be Possibly, yes but the payout to get him in post would be perhaps a bridge too far for the chairman!
Deucalion Posted 19 September 2015 Share Posted 19 September 2015 While I would like to wish Pearson well in his next post, I can't help thinking that if he did go to one of those clubs, I would live to regret doing so. Hope he goes to the Championship and we have progressed too far for it to matter by the time our teams next meet.
desertfox2 Posted 19 September 2015 Share Posted 19 September 2015 Newcastle would make sense and he could definitely turn them around but Ashley would get a geordie Kiss sooner or later it would be inevitable. The thing with Pearson is he needs time to build a side and sometimes it's 1 step back then 2 steps forward. He needs a chairman, not a club, a chairman that will give him time. Doubt he will find that in the prem.
lestajigs Posted 19 September 2015 Share Posted 19 September 2015 Pearson would transform Newcastle into the team they should be Big statement that! Look at all the managers that have failed? Is Pearson better then all of the last Newcastle mangers in god knows years? No

Col city fan Posted 19 September 2015 Share Posted 19 September 2015 It does make you wonder what the Hell some chairman are thinking of. The wally has been not really much good for years now. And the sum they'd have to stump up to pay him off means they are pretty much stuck with him. Sherwood is showing his inexperience at Villa too. But again, how much would his pay off be? Any of these...i'd take Pearson over them any day of the week AND I assume he's learnt now not to act like such a tit off the field.
Frank to be Posted 19 September 2015 Share Posted 19 September 2015 The only premier league club he would go to is one almost guaranteed relegation. They'll give him a chance to perform a miracle but will realistically be employing him as good championship manager. He'll most likely end up in the championship or perhaps one of the bigger league one clubs.

sphericalfox Posted 19 September 2015 Share Posted 19 September 2015 Sunderland - The owners meddle too much and break even half decent managers. He'd be mad to go there. Newcastle - Steve would be on a fine payout as mentioned. In his post match interview though he looked like a rabbit in the headlights. So if anywhere, here would be where I'd put my money, but without his regular back room would he be considered a good gamble? Wednesday - They won't be sacking their new manager for a bit. Their position in the league at the minute isn't great, but they've spent a bit of money and aren't too bad. I can see them pushing for playoffs at least. Villa - Timmy signed a 3 year deal and they'll be paying out a fat wedge. I'd be surprised they'd sack him.

The Doctor Posted 19 September 2015 Share Posted 19 September 2015 Yea, because there probally 3 of the worse in the last 10 year Ok then, is Kevin Keegan post breakdown and out of retirement better? Nah. Pardew - possibly. Hughton? Did as well as him in the championship and in the end in the prem as well, and Hughton hasn't really done anything since. Big Sam? About the only one you could say is definitely better.
Bayfox Posted 19 September 2015 Share Posted 19 September 2015 Newcastle. They won't have to pay stehhheve off as he is on the board. They could just a move him upstairs.
Captain... Posted 19 September 2015 Share Posted 19 September 2015 Pearson's time at Leicester was not one of quick fixes, he took a while to undo the damage caused by Sven, but before Leicester he did perform some miraculous escapes at Carlisle and Southampton. To be honest I don't think he would want a prem job, too much exposure too soon after what was quite a damaging episode for him. There will be a lot of questions about his sacking and his son. I said it before but the best club for him would be a club like forest, they have the money and the fan base to do well but expectations are low due to years of underachieving and he would be given time to build a team and they are crying out for stability. A club like Forest who arent allowed to sign any players and a club where no manager is ever given time by a moron of a chairman. Sounds great.
