Sports You Can't Stand

Recommended Posts

I'm sure like myself many of you sport lovers could watch pretty much every sport going if it was on the TV.But is there any sports you simply can't get into no matter how hard you try. For me, the three I cannot be doing with are:

1. Baseball. Last far too long and very little of interest happens. Shit American version of cricket.

2. F1. Beyond the first 2 laps where all the cars are bunched up it is incredibly tedious.

3. Netball. Tried to watch a bit of the world cup a few months ago, the lack of contact and movement coupled with the fact they almost never miss a shot is so boring.

Baseball is great when you get into it, the pitchers duals in the post season can be incredible.

Can't really think of a sport I hate but F1 seems very dull and I've never really cared for Athletics.

Love my US sports as well but never been into basketball.

Tennis. I like to play but it's not a spectator sport.

I used to like F1 when I was a kid but honestly couldn't watch more than 2 laps these days.

Basically a sport needs to be a group of people on some kind of field with some kind of ball, anything else is a hobby.

There's a lot to like and hate about American sports. The leagues are genuinely competitive and some of the tactical battles are very interesting. Also you get a higher proportion of thrilling NFL games than Premiership ones, for various reasons. But the bullshit level is off the scale, from the crass commercialism to the just-there-for-a-hot-dog-and-a-Bud-lite fans and the appalling organisations that actually run the leagues.

I can see the draw for basketball, not really being a fan myself. Seems a sport which is much more fun to play than it is to spectate

When I was a kid for some reason I followed the Seattle Supersonics, Kemp and Payton in particular. No idea why, perhaps the cool logo?

The team no longer exists

i used to like f1 too (like when hamilton won it first time that was sick) but then it got really boring but i dunno why. i have no idea how anyone can enjoy the last few years, there is only one good team and only two possibly winners who pretty much always qualify in the top two and then stay in the top two for 60 laps and win and come second. crikey.

i dont think i hate many, i have no particular interest in a few (american sports mainly) but that's just cos i've never really watched them, not cos i've watched and not enjoyed them. in fact i watch the ny giants game in work the other night and quite enjoyed it. it was exciting like.

Don't really hate any sport but only follow cricket and football with any real enthusiasm.

At various points I've also enjoyed watch American football, F1, both rugby codes, cycling, basketball (post-Space Jam's release), baseball (when we got ESPN for free). Still enjoy rugby league or American football if it's on terrestrial but don't go out of my way to watch it.

Cricket.

It's boring.

They're not actual athletes as they barely move.

Everyone who plays it seems to be some dull public schoolboy with no personality (or accent; not sure why but this is what really grates me about their interviews) - unless it's Kevin Pietersen, who for some reason there is always a debate about which I can't understand since it's obvious he's a bellend who his teammates can't stand.

Everyone who watches is says it's a good excuse to sit in the sun and get pissed, which you don't need cricket for.

I wouldn't mind it so much if it wasn't always being reported on by Sky.

Speedway - not for me

Cycling - Can watch track cycling but stuff like Tour De France I couldn't sit and watch

Basketball - tried to watch it a few times but again just not for me

Plenty of sports that I can enjoy randomly when watching the Olympics or something, like skiing, track and field events etc but wouldn't watch any of them otherwise.
