eddylcfc Posted 21 November 2015 Share Posted 21 November 2015 Just wanted to see what other leagues people follow other than the Prem. It maybe that you have a second team in another league or whatever but I'm just interested to see. Personally I love the Bundesliga and I follow La Liga quite strongly too. Would love to hear what reasons you have!
StanSP Posted 21 November 2015 Share Posted 21 November 2015 Bundesliga La Liga Serie A Ligue 1 BT's coverage of European football is great. My interest has certainly increased now that I can watch their games properly.
ScouseFox Posted 21 November 2015 Share Posted 21 November 2015 none really i enjoy watching all the best teams (real, barca, psg, bayern, juve, roma, dortmund) but probably wouldn't choose to watch elche v sporting gijon or ajaccio v rennes etc. probably just la liga because they have more of the best players. Amin Posted 21 November 2015 Share Posted 21 November 2015 I don't really watch league football that much, only really stick to the Leicester games and the fixtures that involve two big teams. That goes for the Premier League too.
Wymsey Posted 21 November 2015 Share Posted 21 November 2015 Bundesliga, great atmospheres and positive football. Starting to get into Serie A as well. MLS is moreorless 'slow motion', laid-back football.
It'sblueupnorth Posted 21 November 2015 Share Posted 21 November 2015 Find la Liga very boring. Would probably say bundesliga as IMO it's more entertaining, but I do like to watch a bit of Mls as it's quite relaxing IMO!
MC Prussian Posted 21 November 2015 Share Posted 21 November 2015 The poll should allow for multiple entries, given the initial question. I do follow the Bundesliga and the Swiss Super League and Challenge League and check scores in France, Italy and Spain sporadically.
bovril Posted 21 November 2015 Share Posted 21 November 2015 Only Seria A, really. I grew up watching Football Italia and lived in Italy for a while, so I can relate to it more than German or Spanish football. I don't think I've ever sat through a whole Bundesliga game. The Blur Posted 21 November 2015 Share Posted 21 November 2015 I don't really watch league football that much, only really stick to the Leicester games and the fixtures that involve two big teams. That goes for the Premier League too. Same here, barely have time to watch PL football let alone to follow other leagues. There is nothing better than watching a big match in pub with mates though. Nalis Posted 21 November 2015 Share Posted 21 November 2015 Anyone who selects the Belgian Pro League is either Belgian or trying to be a football hipster.
Richard Posted 22 November 2015 Share Posted 22 November 2015 I wish there were better highlights shows on freeview TV. I think the only one is the Bundesliga one on ITV4 and that's pretty poor.
Donut Posted 22 November 2015 Share Posted 22 November 2015 Not so sure the bundesliga is that good to be honest. Has the crowd atmosphere, and youve got the individual briliance of the Bayern Munich team, but its not the most competitive league because of this, the disparity between the clubs is apparent in the way Bayern have in the past bought or signed Dortmund's best players. La Liga has the quality without doubt. Serie A is entertaining too. I enjoyed the game between Bologna and Roma thats just gone, lord knows how they completed 90 mins on a pitch where the ball wouldnt roll 5 yards though
Fox92 Posted 22 November 2015 Share Posted 22 November 2015 Only time I ever watch European Football is when a European side plays an English side in the Champions League. Football outside of this Country doesn't interest me. For some reason 5live were commentating on the Barcelona game yesterday so I had to spend the trip back from Newcastle listening to a Spanish game. Fox92 Posted 22 November 2015 Share Posted 22 November 2015 it wasn't just any Spanish game though Not bothered though. I much prefer driving home from games and listening to proper 5live followed by 606. Second time it's happened on a long trip too - drove back all the way from Norwich with them commentating on the bloody Rugby.

Fox92 Posted 22 November 2015 Share Posted 22 November 2015 "For some reason 5live were commentating on the Barcelona game" Probably 1 of the most unintentionally funny posts I've seen in a while I just don't get it. At that time when I'm coming home from a game I want to know every English score. Premier League right through to the National League. Barcelona v Madrid should have been on 5live extra. Samilktray Posted 22 November 2015 Share Posted 22 November 2015 Barcelona vs Real Madrid is the 2 biggest football teams playing in probably the biggest game in world club football. If you can't understand why they'd be commentating on that then I don't know what to say tbh.
Fox92 Posted 22 November 2015 Share Posted 22 November 2015 I can understand. I shouldn't have put "for some reason" but I do think it should have been on the extra channel so 5live and 606 could carry on as normal.
Finnegan Posted 22 November 2015 Share Posted 22 November 2015 Toss up between the Bundesliga and La Liga depending on my mood. In the nineties and early 00s it was Serie a, so basically just whatever is good quality at the time. I struggle to sit and watch rubbish like ADO Den Haag vs Zwolle or NY Red Bulls vs Seattle Sounders. If I wanted to watch something that wank I'd watch non league. howlinmadmurfdoc Posted 22 November 2015 Share Posted 22 November 2015 MLS is good for watching people who were crap in this country look like world beaters, New York Red Bulls with their Mike Grella and the Wright-Philips brothers up front being one of the best examples. LeicesterBran Posted 25 November 2015 Share Posted 25 November 2015 I only really have time to follow the bpl these days. But, I watch the Bundesliga and La Liga whenever given the chance. While i was in Toronto, this summer i followed the MLS.
