Austrian journalist looking for helpful foxes fans

Recommended Posts

Fuchs is good mates with Huth, check out the stupid video they did. Brainless but funny.

The best back drop at short notice, hmm... Lost Bar on the Narborough Road, maybe? I've never actually been in, but it's bound to have the colours up. If you want to get a real flavour of the diversity of Leicester, walk down the Golden Mile (melton road), and vox pop a few Asian lads about LCFC, and particularly Mahrez.

Good luck. Thank you for the best Left Back we have had in 40 years!  :D

Good morning everyone,

thank all of you for the great input!

I am so very much in love with the limitless opportunities of internet community right now.

Not only have I found volunteers for the interview but also loads of great input and ideas.

The finished piece will air this sunday at 6 pm (your time) but I fear it's going to be geoprotected and only viewable in Austria.

I'll make sure there's an upload somewhere so I can post a (working) link on this site.

Again - thanks for all the support! You can start teaching me foxes cheers/fight songs now. I'm your newest fan.

Austria will be glad for any support :-)

Why do you think it is that Fuchs has become a favourite among fans?

He is patently a high calibre player with real quality but also works hard and his personality fits brilliantly with the squad. He clearly felt no resentment leaving a Champions League side to join Leicester and he appears to be a welcome leader in terms dressing room.

Hi Karoline, I've been following this thread with interest. Unfortunately, as I live near Manchester (but a foxes fan for over 60 years), I am not in a position to contribute any useful input.

I would just like to congratulate you on your faultless English. I hope this project works out well for you, and that you become infused with the buzz of being a foxes fan.

thank you all of you already - you're making my day!

I've got another question for you: since I have now found very helpful (and as it seems extremely knowledgeable) fans to interview I am looking for a location.

If possible I would like to avoid the fanshop at the stadium as we will be filming there already and rather go to a pub that (in the best case) shows it's support in LCFC colors...

Does anybody know something?

Lost bar.. Narborough Rd.

It has been news for quite some time and now we're (trying) to rise to the challenge and show/tell Austria about the phenomenon that is LCFC...

For the feature piece we're doing we'll interview the club's historian as well as you guys - if possible.

So if you have any pointers on what makes LCFC so special/things you might want to communicate/moments you could watch over and over again/those you wouldn't want to relive...

I am glad for any support - you are the specialists!

Can you wait until the end of the season, please?

Servus Karoline!

I am a Foxes fan now living in Germany but I have a memory linking Vienna and Leicester (and not the notorious UEFA cup match played there against Red Star Belgrade). I lived in Vienna in the early 80s and hitch-hiked back to Leicester to watch the last match of the 1982-83 season when Leicester won promotion back to the old first division. It took me two days to get there and it was a tense 0-0 draw - but it was worth it.

By the way, I agree with all the comments praising Christian Fuchs. ..a great player and a charming personality.

I love how Karoline wisely felt the need to specify 'helpful' foxes fans, thereby acknowledging a fair few would happily put it all down to James Pearson's holiday activities and gorping at female TV presenters before each match.

Will we get to see an end product from the interviews?

It's in the ORF archive now. You need an add-on like Hola in order to watch it outside of Austria:

http://tvthek.orf.at/program/Sport-am-Sonntag/2279179/Sport-am-Sonntag/11959710/Leicester-City-brilliert-in-der-Premier-League/11982057

"Leicester, a small town in England."

"Leicester Foxes"

And all that with (Irish?) folk music in the background. Couldn't your people down at the editing suite in Vienna have gone for a more fitting intro, Karoline?

At least Kasabian make an appearance sound-wise.

You should all thank God that Austrian TV is geo-protected as is it is generally crap.  Mind you Karoline is better looking than Skinner, but there again, so is Arsehole Wenger.
