All-time Leicester City XI

Recommended Posts

Good evening all.

I'm sure this thread has been posted before, so mods feel free to merge if required.

But with City on the verge of our first top-flight title I have been asked to come up with my personal all-time Leicester City XI and was just wondering how many of the current crop of players would you put in yours?

I have managed to narrow it down to 26 players, but would struggle to justify putting in club legends that I never saw play.

What would your all-time Leicester City XI be?

Gordon Banks
Peter Shilton
Kasper Schemichel

Colin Appleton
John Sjoberg
Graham Cross
David Nish
Dennis Rofe
Steve Walsh
Matt Elliott
Wes Morgan

Lenny Glover
Keith Weller
Jon Sammels
Alan Birchenall
Muzzy Izzet
Neil Lennon
Danny Drinkwater
N'Golo Kante
Riyad Mahrez

Arthur Chandler
Arthur Rowley
Frank Worthington
Gary Lineker
Emile Heskey
Jamie Vardy

Impossible to say, before my time there were plenty that probably should be there, like Weller and shilton, but who I have seen in my lifetime would be :

Kasper Schmeichel

Christian Fuchs

Wes Morgan

Matt Elliott

Danny Simpson

Steve Guppy

Muzzy Izzet

N'Golo Kante

Riyad Mahrez

Jamie Vardy

Emile Heskey

Subs

Tim Flowers

Steve Walsh

Gerry Taggart

Neil Lennon

Steve Claridge

Esteban Cambiasso

Danny Drinkwater

I got an E on my Maths GCSEs but I'm pretty sure that's not 11

I've avoided picking players who only played one season for us, as I don't regard them as true Leicester legends. Sorry Cambiasso and Kante.

I'll go on a slightly different tack and pick players who were crap, who we knew were crap and who knew themselves that they were crap, but for various unfathomable reasons were liked, admired and occasionally loved by the crowd.

Zeljko Kalac

Alan Paris

Jimmy Willis

Bob Hazell

Geoff Scott

Garry Coatsworth

Pat Byrne

Colin Gibson

Jamie Lawrence

Ian Ormondroyd

Iwan Roberts

some half decent players on there - for comical value if nothing else.  A lot worse than that have played for Leicester.

In a time when we were the pits, I loved me some Delbert

What about Pressman - he couldn't out jump an elephant
