I fancy an outsider to win it, I think Poland will win their group and Germany could be in trouble. Crazy I know but just got a feeling.

Milik top scorer at 150/1 too.

I've said about Poland too. I don't think they'll win it but at 50/1 I might put a couple of quid on them.

I'm going to do an acca again too. During the '14 World Cup I had a goals galore across 6 or 7 games and won - it was something like 40/1.

You lot going for Milik ahead of Lewandowski!?

yeah deffo at the prices. for "top poland scorer" it's effectively milik vs lewa, one is 11/2 and one is 8/13. lewandowski obviously will take pens, but other than that they're both up front on the same team against the same opposition. it's not like poland are actively gonna be looking to set lewandowski up over milik. if anything teams are going to double up on lewandowski and hopefully give milik a bit more room to pick up the pieces.

i too think they'll have a half decent tournament. quarters for sure, which you can get a good price on. poland & austria to reach the quarters @ 7/1, poland, germany & england reach the quarters @ 11/2. seem half good prices. not sure if it's just me but a lot of the "reach the quarters" prices seem really big considering you can finish second in the group, get another second placed team in the round of 16 and you're there.

in the predictors i always have poland coming second in their group and playing switzerland in the round of 16.

My advice look at a low number of goals in the first set of games. That you can qualify in third means you get through without winning a game. 11 men behind the ball a lot!

Also, Albania to be the lowest scoring team is 6/1 ... And I can't see them getting out the group either being in the same group as France and Switzerland.

An interesting point, myself and a few mates all clubbed in a load of dough several years ago and backed no goalscorer in every game and kept doubling our stake. Won a fair bit of money. I am looking at 1-1 as being a valuable bet to try this on but I need about £5000 kitty! Haha

Another note bookies don't have enough info on Romania, Albania and Hungary. There's some value in their individual top goalscorers, the odds are short for no goalscorer.

Worth keeping an eye. I did well over the last World Cup by backing Algeria. The bookies didn't have enough info on them to price them correctly.

Think I'm going to have Kante POTT as well. Fantastic odds for a player as good as him even if he isn't much of a highlights player.

They're quite a defensive side as well. I can see that paying out.

so excited that sky have cut ngolo from 66s to 33s we must've all been piling on.

legit think it's a cracker of a bet even @ 33/1 (think you can get 50/1 elsewhere). who actually decides the player of the tournament? he was in the pfa top 6 and the football writers top 3. if he starts, massively possible without diarra, he will be one of the key players for probably the eventual winners.

John Stones is 3/1 to start against Russia.

I don't know how bad Smalling's injury is, but surely if he doesn't play Stones goes in for him.

most reports say smalling's gonna be back training today so probably was never even an issue, just the papers got all overexcited and decided we'd already lost all 3 group games because we have NO DEFENDERS OH NO. i think stones might start anyway, he's the one hodgson keeps using as the left CB.

clyne is the one at the prices who's surely worth backing. 9/2 to start. has he really gone from deffo first choice to a certainty to be on the bench because kyle walker ran quite quickly a few times in a friendly when we were generally rubbish and portugal didn't attack us once?

Germany 4/1 to win the tournament is an absolute steal for me. Muller top scorer too at 8/1. Will do singles and a double on that which is 18/1.
