Collymore Posted 22 June 2016 Share Posted 22 June 2016 Having watched Fuchs in the Euros I think it highlights the how he fits into our philosophy and setup so well... but not Austria's... Austria looked so disjointed it was beyond belief and Fuchs looks liked a boy scout lost in a forest full of angry bears armed with a torch and a kitkat - and he's the captain! What is the formula that brings it all together? What did SW ever see in the guy? What algorithm is the guy using? It must be worth a fortune... I seriously think he knows more than he's letting on.. Facecloth Posted 22 June 2016 Share Posted 22 June 2016 I'm not sure the standard of the competition for your place dictates how well you'll play. Nor does his transfer fee. If these euro were last summer and you'd judged him on these you wouldn't have signed him, even on a free. He's been poor for Austria, but slots perfectly in at Leicester. KFS Posted 22 June 2016 Share Posted 22 June 2016 Ever thought he is just shattered and cant really be arsed and wants to go to the US to be with his family and have a holiday. Doesn't strike me as the type. In fact, he was the only one dripping with sweat at the final whistle.

Munshi Posted 22 June 2016 Share Posted 22 June 2016 We'll see Don't think we've seen enough of Chilwell to think he'd be going straight into the side next season. Also fuchs was absolutely brilliant this season and I highly doubt we'd just drop him like that

The_77 Posted 22 June 2016 Share Posted 22 June 2016 Yes, aliens or some other unearthly beings gave Walsh the magic formula (and he's a genius); however, I wouldn't say that Fuchs doesn't fit in with Austria. It was just a bad tournament for them-- I don't think anyone would say that Fuchs didn't fit into that system when he captained Austria to an undefeated qualifying campaign. It was a long season with a lot of travelling for him. It's probably good for us that he'll get some well-earned rest.

Sampson Posted 22 June 2016 Share Posted 22 June 2016 We'll see We don't need to see. It's bleeding obvious Fuchs will start ahead of Chilwell next season because Ranieri has a fecking brain. We're not going to drop the best full-back we've ever had for some untested 19 year old ffs. Seriously, have a word.

Carl the Llama Posted 22 June 2016 Share Posted 22 June 2016 Yes. Next season he'll build a pyramid at Belvoir Drive seemingly without the technological capacity to do so.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 23 June 2016 Share Posted 23 June 2016 I think the key is the way we decide which players we scout - we identify what attributes are wanted for a position, identify potential targets from data samples, then go and watch them play and evaluate further from there. Other clubs tend to just track players and evaluate them individually. They'll go, "yes he's good so we'll have him" but then they have to work out how to fit them into the existing team - were as we've already done the work on that, which reduces the risk factor for a new signing.
