hornyhollthefox123 Posted 24 June 2016 Share Posted 24 June 2016 Get French football reporting Ngolo Kante will no longer have a work permit along with a number of other French players including cabaye , martial and schneiderlin following brexit. hackenbacker Posted 24 June 2016 Share Posted 24 June 2016 Hope this is in the right place What will be the implications to English football from leaving the EU? As I understand the reason we had so many foreign players before was the freedom of movement of labour. Will this stop? will it mean that restrictions can now be placed on the number of foreign players a team has? If so will it be beneficial for the England football team as more young English players are developed? Also will there be any implications for English teams playing in Europe? What are your thoughts? (happy for this topic to be moved to the right forum) Cheers Stephen

MC Prussian Posted 24 June 2016 Share Posted 24 June 2016 Well, I for one thought there'd be exceptions or at least a phase of continuation of EU law. So hardly that dramatic. It all sounds a bit too theatrical for my taste, I'm sure it's less worse than what's been published in one media outlet. There are talks of implementing a new system, similar to the one in use in Australia: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2016/jun/22/will-europeans-be-free-to-stay-in-the-uk-after-brexit

WigstonWanderer Posted 24 June 2016 Share Posted 24 June 2016 Very unlikely that anyone is likely to be thrown out of Britain in the short term IMHO. Most likely that a negotiated withdrawal will be phased in over a period of years, and visa arrangements would be changed over a similar timescale. act smiley Posted 24 June 2016 Share Posted 24 June 2016 Kante would get one on appeal, though. There's got to be plenty of others who would be in bigger trouble. I wonder if the appeal takes into account having won the league otherwise the likes of Ulloa would be in trouble
Guest Posted 24 June 2016 Share Posted 24 June 2016 First of all, isn't the phase out to any new arrangement set to take at least 2 years before being implemented? Secondly, wouldn't the UK continue on as an EEA member?
brisfox Posted 24 June 2016 Share Posted 24 June 2016 N'Golo Kante will be sent back to Mali after the Euros as an illegal immigrant
act smiley Posted 24 June 2016 Share Posted 24 June 2016 Nah, they'll have to leave EEA too, given the promises they've been making. It'll likely not be instant though, yeah.
mozartfox Posted 24 June 2016 Share Posted 24 June 2016 Euro Release Amounts and Euro Transfer Fees will cost more in Pounds now. May be we pay in Baht going forward? les-tah Posted 24 June 2016 Share Posted 24 June 2016 The UK makes so much money on the wages transfer fee taxes from euro signings it would be crazy to ban them. I don't think anyone should worry
st albans fox Posted 24 June 2016 Share Posted 24 June 2016 Will take a few years to sort out new rules. the only difference I can see short term is deciding not to pay too much for a player with a European passport who isn't a guaranteed international re their possible resale value in three years to another PL club. foxes_rule1978 Posted 24 June 2016 Share Posted 24 June 2016 Things like this don't happen over night, and I doubt the non British people who are here legally working will find themselves not being able to work or get deported. That would just cause mayhem.
