Which band would you most like to see reform?

Recommended Posts

Well it probably was Blur actually :)

I don't really care about bands reforming years and years after they finished, like Led Zeppelin, The Smiths or The Stone Roses, because their time has gone. But someone like The Libertines would be great.

Gang of Four

They reunited this year with a new single and a few gigs. Perhaps there's more to come from them à la Mission of Burma.

Pixies

but you can't go back - these things happen for a reason

Fortunately I got to see one of their reunion shows in New York in '05 :) Every now and again, the group talks a little about doing it again, but I guess time is slowly running out for this.

For me... Funkadelic/Parliament/any of the P-Funk projects, Electrelane, LiLiPUT (originally known as Kleenex), Delta 5, Josef K.

Without a doubt The Smiths.

Followed by Japan, Magazine, Orange Juice, Angelic Upstarts, Shriekback, Chelsea, Public Image Ltd, Gang of Four, 999, Siouxsie and the Banshees and Theatre of Hate.

Took the words right out of my mouth... especially with Japan. Have you heard of Japan singer's David Sylvian's solo stuff.. it's amazing.

Talk Talk also, if they come back with their later style sounds on the vein of Colour Of Spring or Spirit Of Eden

that slipped under my radar, when did that happen?

for me it has to be Alfie... one of the few really interesting guitarbands of recent times (you know songwriting and arrangements and stuff)

and no real reason for them to have split up...

Nice, I too was fortunate enough to see them live years ago - they are amazing live (were?)

Have you tried Rain Tree Crow, David Sylvians band? Don't know how many album they did, but I have their eponymous debut one which is good.

Also regarding the superb Talk Talk (who I'd also love to reform so I could see them live) try the album by Rustin Man (aka Paul Webb, bass player for Talk Talk) and Beth Gibbons (of Portishead) called Out of Season. It has a real Talk Talk feel to it.

At the end of last year, they went on "indefinite hiatus."

That's just when I started listening to them, too. Shame it took me so long to find them. All of their songs are the same, too, and I just love it.

I saw them at Reading Festival a few years back, it was glorious.

Blink 182.

:crylaugh:

Ooops, apologies, I meant any band with stupidly long guitar solos from the seventies that had a singer die from a heroin overdose.

That better?

Twat.

Haha, yes! I know Blink aren't the most talented band around but they just remind me of being 12 and whacking on Dude Ranch and having good times. I listened to them the other day for the first time in years. Love it.
