Uncle Albert Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 England v Brazil tonight, not expecting a win but you never know. Pleased for Ashley Cole as well, winning his 100th Cap on his 100th start is some achievement. Expecting to see Hart, Johnson, Cahill, Jagielka, Cole, Gerrard, Wilshire, Lampard, Walcott, Rooney and Cleverley.
Langston Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 Whatever anyone's opinion is of Ashley Cole, he's never been anything less than committed and steady-to-excellent for England. Quite looking forward to tonight - hopefully Roy's got a better opinion of who he wants in and around his qualifying squads now, seems to have used a lot of players thus far. Shame Carrick is out, he's having a top season, we genuinely look decent enough in the middle of the park now - there's also the likes of Cork and Lallana settling into Premier League life and looking every bit the part. I'd love to see Walcott get given a chance as a genuine striker for England, I'd wager he's as clinical, if not more so than Welbeck / Sturridge when played in the right spot, no idea how Roy would mould a team around that idea though. My favourite teamsheet tonight would look like: Hart Walker Jagielka Lescott Cole Gerrard Wilshere Milner Ox-Chambo Rooney Walcott With Gerrard and Wilshere acting as deeper midfielders, and AOC and Walcott either side of Rooney. For the first time in a while there actually seems to be a fair few Englishmen in fine form, excellent headache to have.
Fox in the North Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 I love Ashley cole as a player but I despise him as a general person.
J.Lisemore Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 I don't think anybody on here knows him well enough to say he's a shit person, we know he's a great footballer though.
kingfox Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 Brazil bringing in the oldies, Ronaldinho, Fabiano and Fred Can't argue with Uncle Albert's team, will probably be just that. Shame Sturridge has pulled out, has looked in good form.
Bert Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 Ashley Cole is the best left back we've ever had as an Englishman. Might be a twat off field, but he's one hell of a fantastic player.
WhenYourSmilingLCFC Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 Ronaldinho, my all time favourite player. Been top class every club he's been at. Even doing well nowadays to get a new chance to play for Brazil. Still a couple years left in him yet, I hope. Always hoped to see him in the Premiership, looks unlikely.

Shame Sturridge has pulled out, has looked in good form. Is 29 old enough to be classed as an 'oldie' now? Fred's been shit-hot the last few seasons in Brazil, used to love South American footie.
MooseBreath Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 I originally thought this was on last night so with an extra day to think about it I've made the terrible mistake of allowing myself to look forward to it. This is obviously stupid because watching England has for the last few years been a uniquely depressing experience, and not even the presence of Brazil can alter my strong suspicion that this game is going to be completely and utterly crap.
ScouseFox Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 I hope Ronaldinho is up for a laugh tonight. The best player to watch in my lifetime without doubt.

LCFC FOX Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 Glen Johnson is so overrated. I think hes shite compared to Kyle Walker. Hart Walker Cahill Lescott Cole Ox Lampard Gerrard Young Rooney Sturridge We don't currently have a decent enough center back compared to other top teams.
Fox92 Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 Very pleased for Ashley Cole. I do like him, and he has been a World Class full back for many years now.
Corky Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 Should be an interesting game, hope we put in a good performance. Well done to Cole, to reach 100 international caps is a fantastic effort.
casablancas Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 Hopefully will be an interesting game, hope both teams go for the throat. Shame it's on itv and have to sit through tedious moments staring at Chiles ugly mug. Oh how I hate him.
sham Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 Starting XI: England: 1 Hart, 2 Johnson, 3 Cole, 4 Gerrard ©, 5 Cahill, 6 Smalling, 7 Walcott, 8 Wilshere, 9 Welbeck, 10 Rooney, 11 Cleverley Subs: 12 Kyle Walker, 13 Jack Butland, 14 Leighton Baines, 15 Phil Jagielka, 16 Joleon Lescott, 17 James Milner, 18 Frank Lampard, 19 Leon Osman, 20 Aaron Lennon, 21 Alex Oxlade Chamberlain.
Bayfox Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 Not going to claim he's the best left back we have ever had as theres a few i never saw. However he has been one of the best in the world over the last 10 or so years. He is also clearly very career driven. As for off the pitch. He can do what he likes. But cheating on cheryl. How thick is that. I would walk over hot coals pardon the pun to **** that.
Tom17LCFC Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 Congrats to Cole on reaching a century. Very consistent for us over the past decade, even if he is a **** . I don't understand why Johnson keeps getting picked though. I don't rate him at all, put Walker and Richards well above him. Looking forward to some of the tricks from big ronny and Neymar tonight!

Richards is injured and has been for some time, and Johnson is arguably in better form than Kyle Walker right now - though I do think the latter will have a huge future.
kingfox Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 Welbeck and Smalling Good players, but not done much for their clubs in recent months. Jagielka is more solid.
Amin Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 I love both teams, I hope it's a high scoring game.
Guest shearfox Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 I hope Brazil all think like Neymar, recently it has been Gerrard coming up with the goods for England and not Rooney. Either way both players have hit form for their clubs and we do look strong.

I know Richards is out, but even when he's fit he barely gets a look in. Agree with you in thinking Walker will be our no.1 for many years to come, I just hope that starts sooner rather than later.
foxfanazer Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 Well done to Ashley Cole for reaching 100 caps. Say what you want about him as a man but what a superb talent he is. Most consistent England player over the last 10 years
