Finnegan Posted 26 February 2013 Share Posted 26 February 2013 Kasper: 7 - Couple of very smart saves but not really tested. RDL: 7 - Few good runs and a couple of tidy tackles. Keane: 7 - Solid, does the basics well. Wes: 7 - Standard Wes. Konch: 7 - Part of a back four that didn't really look like conceding, freedom to get forward a bit more. Marshall: 7 - Better from Ben after a few wonky performances, seems to be better suited to the crossing game of an actual winger as opposed to an 'inside forward.' King: 8 - Took his goal really well, ran his socks off, hassled in the midfield. Probably MOTM. Drinkwater: 7.5 Accomplished passing, one particularly dynamic run down the right almost produced a wonder goal for Kane. Knocky: 7 - Bags of running and closing down defensively and largely stuck to the simple things today. Seemed to take a whack on the face that massively motivated him. Wood: 6.5 Might be a little bit harsh but felt the ball wasn't particularly sticking to him today. Think he looks almost half the player when not playing with Nugent, took his goal well though. Kane: 6.5 Looks a prospect but looks wasted alongside too similar a player. Not convinced by the partnership at all, certainly nice as a "Plan B" as you can't criticize our crossing game too much today but we looked slow and ponderous from open play. Pearson: With Nugent not fit and Vardy not firing, had very few options and set out a slightly different game plan with focus on the wide men crossing for good headers. Paid off with three headed goals, even got two from corners for once. Want to see Nugent back with Wood, though, for more dynamism going forward. We look our most threatening when we play with pace. kingfox Posted 26 February 2013 Share Posted 26 February 2013 Schmeichel 7 - Nothing much, apart from one World Class reflex save De Laet 7 - Good performance, much better defensively Morgan 7 - Comfortable performance by the captain tonight Keane 8 - Been a bit off lately, but tonight he was exceptional, defended so well Konchesky 7 - Like Morgan, he was pretty comfortable all game Knockaert 7 - First half he was dangerous, tailed off in the second half though Drinkwater 7 - Comfortable in midfield, few stray passes here and there, but mostly good than bad King 8 - Excellent display defensively, and deserved a goal Marshall 8 - Did very well tonight, two assists, one of which was top draw Wood 7 - Linked up well with Kane, first half, not as good second half Kane 8 - Really like him, quick, not scared to shoot and good in the air Subs Dyer 7 - One great chance Vardy 5 - Meh Waghorn 6 - Set up the third goal MOTM - Keane or King
Bert Posted 26 February 2013 Share Posted 26 February 2013 Kasper 7 - one fantastic save. Nothing more to do. De Laet 7 - he's becoming very consistent for us. Konch 7 - one of his best games for a while I thought. Morgan 7 - standard Wes. Keane 7 - He's gonna be a top defender. Marshall 8 - MOTM just over king. Worked his bollocks off again, two assists and generally played very well. Knocky 7 - came close to scoring, did a lot more work for the team. King 8 - Deserved his goal. Got stuck in, did his work defensively again and didn't give their midfield much time. Drinkwater 7.5 - Ran the game along with King. When he plays well, so do we. Kane 7 - dropped off well to cause them problems in the final third, pleased he's got a goal. Wood(s) 7 - Simple headed goal, but creates so much space for the rest of the team. Absolute bargain of a signing. Crucial player for us.

Dickov22 Posted 26 February 2013 Share Posted 26 February 2013 Kasper 7 - outstanding save, didn't have anything else to do after that De Laet - 8- One of his best games for us. Solid defensively and quick and dangerous going forward. In my top 3 players this season Morgan - 7- Comfortable Keane - 7.5- Played well, won lots in the air tonight Konchesky-7- good game from him. Got forward more than usual and sound defensively King- 8 MOTM- Back to his best, worked hard and thoroughly deserved his goal Drinkwater - 7.5 Excellent 1st half. Love the way he gets his body infront of players to win the ball- reminds me of Neil Lennon. He's having a top season for us. Does the simple things well Knocky- 6.5- makes things happen for us. Looked frustrated second half and took a knock, right call to bring Marshall-7.5- Excellent. Defended well, played some lovely balls (ball though to Wood was brilliant) great crosses and took players on. Pleased for him Wood - 7- Very good first half. Strong, good link up play. Kane 7- As above really.

Thracian Posted 27 February 2013 Share Posted 27 February 2013 Kasper 8 (Made one acrobatic save, was quite thoughtful with his distribution and seemed decisive with the high balls - altogether did most everything all he could do to play his part).. De Laet 7.5 (As good a game as he's had for us). . Konch 7 (Effective game and good decision-making) Morgan 7 (Like a rock).. Keane 7 (Complimented his captain in a back line that offered little more than crumbs to the opposition). Marshall 8 (Had all the effect he's been missing so much recently with his two assists). Knocky 6.5 (Impishly dangerous and even got close to scoring but still not as effective as he could and should be). . King 9 (Vintage King. Dictated play in his fulcrum role and hardly misdirected a pass. His goal was a classic near post header which will hopefully restore his goalscoring confidence. Balanced the range of his passing well but essentially passed the ball quickly and simply. Made important defensive contributions and fought for the ball when he had to). Drinkwater 7.5 (Much more the Drinkwater who looked so impressive when he first joined and helped us beat Southampton away). Kane 7 (Home debut goal and showed he should be an asset). Wood 7.5 (Simple but important headed opener and a handful for the Blackburn defence to contain). Subs: Dyer 6 (Very dangerous whenever he was involved both in threatening their defence and in picking out constructive passes). Waghorn 6.5 (Not on long but his pacey corner was perfectly delivered for King to glance home) Vardy n/a

cjslcfc Posted 27 February 2013 Share Posted 27 February 2013 Kasper 7 - What a save RDL 7.5 - one of his most solid performances in a blue shirt Morgan 8 - Usual Wes, solid as a rock Keane 8 - impressed with him. Seems to get better and better every week. The fact that Rhodes didn't get a sniff shows how good the Morgan and Keane partnership is. Konchesky 7 - Standard consistent Konchesky Marshall 8.5 - 2 assists, a general threat down the wing. Interesting how this coincided with him playing on the right. Much much better playing on that side, wonderful cross for Wood's goal Drinkwater 7.5 - keeps us ticking. Is vital that he plays well for us to play well King 9 (MOTM) - Just pips Marshall to my motm. A wonderful performance that we know he can produce, both defensively and offensively. Delighted to see him get a goal as well Knocky 6.5 - Always a threat but still an off day for him and I do expect better of the lad Kane 8 - Looked like he had been playing in the side since the start of the season. A complete forward who looks like he is good with his feet, in the air and also seems to have, like Wood, a good footballing brain. Wood 8 - His movement posed a constant problem for their defence, as well as his hold up play. This guy is a bargain! Subs: Dyer 6.5 - not that much time to do anything but a constant threat and his pace is always going to cause problems at that stage of the game Vardy 6 - Not much time. Lots of effort Waghorn 6 - Nice corner
Alf Bentley Posted 27 February 2013 Share Posted 27 February 2013 Kasper 7 - one fantastic save. Nothing more to do. De Laet 7 - he's becoming very consistent for us. Konch 7 - one of his best games for a while I thought. Morgan 7 - standard Wes. Keane 7 - He's gonna be a top defender. Marshall 8 - MOTM just over king. Absolute bargain of a signing. Crucial player for us. Agree with just about every mark and word of this! Saved me some time there, mate! Also, decent cameo again from Lloyd off the bench - livened us up at a good moment. Waggy's corners, from the ridiculous to the sublime; thought Marshall's corner deliveries (& Knocky's to a lesser extent) were much better, too. Would add that Blackburn seemed a very odd side to me. Quite silky in possession but completely lacking in drive and a very porous-looking defence that could've conceded more (or did we just make them look bad by playing particularly well on the night?). I know they were missing 2 or 3 players but they still had a lot of big names playing and looked mediocre overall.
shiv Posted 27 February 2013 Share Posted 27 February 2013 Kasper 7 - That save was class, and a key moment of the game. Apart from that didn't have an awful lot to do. RDL 7.5 - He kept bombing forward, even towards the end. Very quick and complimented Marshall well down the right. Keane 7.5 - Calm, composed and handled things brilliantly. Him and Wes had Rhodes and DJ in their pockets all game. Wes 7.5 - Love this guy. Konch 8.5 - MOTM for me. Not usually his biggest fan but he was excellent going forward and kept Bentley quiet all game. Probably his best performance this season (that I've seen anyway). Marshall 8 - Worked his socks off, put in some deadly crosses hence the 2 assists. Drinky 7.5 - Thought he started off a bit slowly, but the more he got into the game the more he controlled it. Good to see him playing well again. King 8 - Brilliant. His understanding with Drinkwater was excellent, played some great simple passes and did his usual defensive work. Was close between him and Konch for MOTM. Glad he got the goal he deserved. Knocky 6.5 - Average. Not his best performance and deserved to be subbed. Maybe needs a couple of games on the bench to get him going again. Wood 7.5 - Won so many headers and flick-ons. He was strong, held the ball up well and scored a good goal. He is the whole package: target man who is mobile and can score. Kane 7 - Good debut, good goal and looks like he has a decent shot on him. Could have scored more. Dyer & Vardy did well when they came on and I maintain that Waggy is arguably our best set-piece taker.

Corky Posted 27 February 2013 Share Posted 27 February 2013 Schmeichel- 7 (Hardly anything to do but what a save at 0-0. Brilliant) De Laet- 7 (Gave Pedersen nothing and Olsson similar) Morgan- 7 (Marked Campbell out of the game) Keane- 8 (Gave Rhodes nothing) Konchesky- 7 (Much better) Marshall- 8 (Really energetic and dangerous display) King- 8 (Outfought Murphy, good passing and neat goal) Drinkwater- 8 (The Drinkwater at the start of the season. Much quicker in moving the ball) Knockaert- 7 (Impressive first half) Wood- 7 (Took his chance, linked well with Kane) Kane- 7 (Got a goal, helped the team) Subs- Dyer- 6 (Nearly scored after intercepting and beating two men) Vardy- 6 (Not a bad little cameo) Waghorn- 6 (Not on for long, but sent in two threatening corners, one of which brought King's goal)
