SystonFox Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 I am getting married next february and have been given a task by my future wife of looking for honeymoons today on my day off. i do not even know where to begin! i just can't get motivated to look. i go on various holiday websites but once i put the date in i lose all ooomph. i'm not asking anyone to do the work for me but just a few recommendations of websites i may not have tried or destinations to suggest? (i have tried the obvious Virgin, Thomas Cook, Thompson etc!) cheers guys
Soar Fox Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 If you want somewhere quiet where you won't be hassled but treated like royalty I'd suggest Mauritus or the Maldives.
SystonFox Posted 20 May 2013 Author Posted 20 May 2013 we would like something quiet and yes being treated like royalty with all inclusive would be great. shall have a look into these in a sec pal cheers
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 Could look at Oia, Santorini? A friend of mine proposed to his now fiancé there, thoroughly recommended it for romantic getaways/honeymoons. I only got a chance to visit for a day last year but the whole town is gorgeous, fantastic restaurants, choice of secluded deluxe hotels and pretty much the whole town is situated on cliff that overlooks the Aegean Sea and surrounding volcanic islands. The views are amazing
Drew_The_Fox Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 Me and my Mrs went to Kenya, just outside Mombassa on the coast. Was amazing, beautiful beach/hotel and did the whole Safari thing while we were there too, was epic.

Larry_LCFC Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 Ive heard the Costa Del Lincs is really nice. If you can afford it, a little place called Skegness would be ideal. A really sophisticated, upmarket seaside destination with fantastic weather and intelligent conversation guaranteed. Wish I was there right now! * * Information may not be correct.

Guest Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 Quiet is good but this will possibly be a one-off holiday for the two of you. What are your dreams? I combined Sport with the sunny islands. We flew into Miami and I took in a Dan Marino Dolphins game, then we cruised down to the bahamas and after the sunny blah blah bit for the wife we hit Miami again for more dolphins and other things before flying back out. What I'm saying is look into a circuit where you can both have lifelong memories never to be repeated. A sunny beach can be found easily.
Larry_LCFC Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 I didnt think you left the hotel room on a honeymoon anyway. Would a travelodge at the side the of A1 not do?
LcFc_Smiv Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 Someone I worked with went to Hawii and said it was incredible, nice people, amazing food and special scenery. Not sure if it comes under the quiet category?
Monk Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 No idea of your budget or exactly what you're looking for... but if you are looking to make your money go further you should look at Central America and South East Asia. If you look at AirBnb, you can get some AMAZING places for a fairly low price. Treehouses in Costa Rica, Villas in Bali.... etc. https://www.airbnb.co.uk/wishlists/airbnb_picks Just thought I'd suggest something a bit different. We did a month in SE Asia, the best bit was 2 weeks in Bali in a place I found on AirBnb. Private villa with pool and a cook for £100 a night. Amazing. For flights - a great way to get good value on business class is with airmiles - pay for the flight and upgrade with miles. Why not go to headforpoints.co.uk, read up on how to get yourself some miles over the next 6-8 months and look to upgrade your flight? Don't expect an upgrade because you're on honeymoon - it won't happen.
Webbo Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 I managed to get a cheap week in Benidorm for our honeymoon, so I'm guessing you won't want my advice.
sphericalfox Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 Depends on your budget chief. Maldives is expensive, but you can guarantee quiet beautiful scenery, and most of the set-ups are inclusive, you just have to save up the money though. Going in February is a good idea. You beat the monsoon season, the temps are usually 30+, and it won't be packed. As long as you don't mind some Russian oligarchs and some dubious Middle Eastern gentleman, 'sall good. I think my wife booked through Thomas Cook, they had the best deals, though that may have changed.
stevelcfc Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 Thailand, pick up a large amount of duty free, then we won't have to sell all our players.
cambridgefox Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 Depends on budget. Two hotels that are ideal for a Honeymoon and I can recommend personally . Thailand- Tongsai bay( koh samui) Malaysia-The Andaman( Langkawi) At The Tongsai the gardeners would stop work, say hello mr .........and cup hands.Staff upto speed on LCFC. Neither all inclusive, breakfast only but that was amazing.
Orkneyfox Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 Depends what sort of thing "she" is into, what does she like and enjoy. Alaska could be good, romantic hot tubs, cold weather, staying in by log fires, leave her in the woods for wolves and bears if you fall out. Or Orkney, lots of nature and archeology and 2 distilleries and 2 breweries. Or... if you are that disinterested just call the whole thing off and save yourself a pile of cash!
SystonFox Posted 20 May 2013 Author Posted 20 May 2013 She doesn't do cold weather. And as for budget I have no idea! From what I've seen today it costs around £3000 for us both I'd be happy to pay that. Could probably go more but I don't think I'd go much more than £4k for two weeks

Could probably go more but I don't think I'd go much more than £4k for two weeksDefinitely ask about Tongsai Bay,cost four of us 8.5k including spends, upgraded, had 3 days in a nice hotel in Bangkok.Remember my kids eat a lot and trips,so ou could do for under 4 k.Top 25 hotel in the whole of Thailand Small hotels of the world top 100, made the list. Ideal for Honeymoons Please have a look,I couldn't recommend enough. She will love you forever. Look at site and trip advisor ( reviews say it all) PM me if you want more info I'm at home all day. If you ask any travel agent what they think, they will say only superb things. We went through Kuoni, through Thomas Cook! Trail finders also do use this hotel. Little things, maids spend at least an hour morn and night doing the room.petals in the outside bath, hearts on beds from flowers, homemade biscuits ,cakes. I played the companies off against each other.
Bayfox Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 3.5k will get you to and from the caribean. Heres how we did it. Go thomas cook signiture in highcross. We started at 5k to include twin centre holiday inc virgin premium economy upgrades which adds a grand to the holiday. In the end they got it down to 3.5k for the following. Gatwick to antuiga 1 week at pineapple beach club. Now grand pineapple i think. Sit on a beach do nothing for a week. Free beach front room upgrade. Transfers with liat airways to st.lucia. 1 week on an island with lots more to do. Took in a boat trip. The pitons, plantation in the rain forest. Helicopter transfer back to international airport a 200 quid extra and premium upgrade home. All in the 3.5k Make them work for there money. Research it 1st so you have a starting point then wait for them to get it for less or throw in upgrades.
SystonFox Posted 21 May 2013 Author Posted 21 May 2013 Top two posts are absolute LADS. I'll have a goose tomorrow I have the day off work
Zingari Posted 22 May 2013 Posted 22 May 2013 So long as there are regular trips to Orgasmoland it shouldn't matter much . But if you feel that you may want to impress her in other ways , how about the bridal suite at the Shah Jahan hotel overlooking the Taj Mahal ? Karl Pilkington couldn't speak highly enough of it and It even has an en-suite shed
