Ashley Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 I don't claim to be ITK or anything like that but I'm just posting something that I have heard, no doubt I will get a barrage of abuse but here it goes. Basically Andrew Neville has been summoned to Thailand this week with the clubs books and players contract details. The money has 'ran out', we will need to off load players should we want to sign anyone else and that's if we do sign anyone else. The only reason I cant see this being true is because of our recent ground purchase?
Happy Fox Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 This was mentioned on bentleys roof earlier http://fansonline.net/leicestercity/mb/view.php?id=621202 hand_of_jod Posted on 20/05/2013 08:30Andrew Neville. | Email Message To A Friend | Reply To Message Heard yesterday that he's been running the club last season. He's been summoned to Thailand this week with a memory stick of the player's contracts. The money's ran out. Players have to be sold to fund any signings. Top 10 next season anyone ?
Harry - LCFC Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 Instantly I'm left with strong, strong doubts about that. Don't want to sound insulting but 'something I have heard' is not a reliable source.
Wymsey Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 Who's this source then, where you posted this from? Seems half-bullshit.
Ashley Posted 20 May 2013 Author Posted 20 May 2013 Who's this source then, where you posted this from? Seems half-bullshit. Not from either Talking Balls or Bentleys Roof I can assure you of that, lets just hope it is Half Bullshit.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 I really don't know what to think. Failure to get the required promotion will be the prime cause of this, if true.
davieG Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 Surely it's to do FFP? We're basically spending more than is allowed we all knew something had to give.
Wymsey Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 Does anyone know which of the players are free to leave the club (currently)?
scinnell Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 I know this is true as I was informed this would happen mid way through last season if we fail to go up!
dynamark Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 seems reasonable meeting in Thailand to review playing staff and costs .Nice gig for Andrew .bear in mind the owners are fairly busy with other slightly more profitable aspects of their business interests-----panniccccc
Webbo Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 Surely it's to do FFP? We're basically spending more than is allowed we all knew something had to give. Sounds more likely.
Ashley Posted 20 May 2013 Author Posted 20 May 2013 Could possibly be well to do with FFP, what are the penalties should we spend more than we make etc? Point deduction?
Mark_w Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 I really don't know what to think. Failure to get the required promotion will be the prime cause of this, if true. God you're boring. Managers wasting ridiculous amounts of money on crap players would be the prime cause, Nigel Pearson getting us into the top 6 whilst having to cut costs would not be at fault. But it's probably (hopefully) rubbish.
Chazwaz Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 Could possibly be well to do with FFP, what are the penalties should we spend more than we make etc? Point deduction? Foxblogger said the Radio Leicester FFP special will hopefully be early June so I guess we will find out all the details then
Babylon Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 We need to sell to buy... Oh what a shock!!! There was me thinking we could carry on overspending like no tomorrow, just ignore FFP and cross our fingers. Pearson almost said as much the other day.

The only reason I cant see this being true is because of our recent ground purchase? Presumably that's why Pearson came out of his meeting with the Board on Friday, looking, "decidedly miffed", as reported by a FT Forum Member seeing him. I guess he was p****d off, being told there was no money to spend on purchases this summer ?!
Bellend Sebastian Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 I thought the mice were back. I was really worried for a second, and then I realised it was just something about money and I sort of switched off
stevelcfc Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 Could possibly be well to do with FFP, what are the penalties should we spend more than we make etc? Point deduction? I am of the impression it is a 100% fine, in our case between £24 and £27 mill, depending on what the owners 'gift' the club (up to £5 mill). If we were to go up, the a transfer embargo would be added to that. That's what i thought, may be wrong though so don't read anything into it.
MrSpaM Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 Could possibly be well to do with FFP, what are the penalties should we spend more than we make etc? Point deduction? Transfer embargo is the worst it gets
Jace Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 This was always going to be the case going into 13-14 season with FFP and our expendure lucky Pearson has put together a decent young side that can develop for the future

Jace Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 I would be surprised if the fines were as significant as 100% it would ruin several football clubs that were making a loss and strugling for investment?
MrSpaM Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 Was probably told "Sorry but I'm afraid we can't afford to sack you" Probably is a fairly big reason Pearsons still here, what manager is going to want to come to club with no money to spend. May as well stick with Pearson if were gonna have the same players
