SOCCERROO FOX Posted 22 May 2013 Posted 22 May 2013 Anyone used AirBnb or Couching Surfing? Good or Bad stories? For anyone that doesn't know AirBnb is where you can rent out some ones spare room, couch or sometimes whole house or apartment, used as a cheaper alternative to hotels. Couch surfing is similar but often just a couch in someones livingroom and mostly free.
Monk Posted 22 May 2013 Posted 22 May 2013 I use AirBnB for most trips these days - it's cheaper and better than hotels a lot of the time. The site is awesome as well if you look at the picks section there's loads of awesome places. I've heard good things about couch surfing but not done it myselfl. AirBnB are a fairly large company now so manage payments pretty well. I've stayed in 2 places in Bali, 2 in Korea and will be doing some more in Iceland this summer.
MikeyT Posted 22 May 2013 Posted 22 May 2013 I have a friend that uses Couch Surfing and she says it's great and met loads of brilliant people. Not familiar with AirBnB though.
Rincewind Posted 22 May 2013 Posted 22 May 2013 Couch surfing is also a term used if you are homeless but not something I thought about as in holiday. Might be a good idea though and cheap way.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 22 May 2013 Author Posted 22 May 2013 Monk i was actually going to pm you directly as i knew u would of used these sites. Where i'm looking at using airbnb there is plenty of options but i'm finding the site has plenty of errors but and won't let me do anything, especially when trying to contact someone.
Monk Posted 23 May 2013 Posted 23 May 2013 what kind of errors? I just login with facebook and seems to work fine... unless youre using an old browser?
