Rumours here getting stronger that he is joining us on a season long loan from you lot.

What is he like then? Hardly pulled up any trees last year which is why I would be unhappy if we signed him. Espeically on loan, because I would much rather us get a goalscorer in permanently rather than on loan.

Hope it isn't true, but perhaps you lot may change my mind...

I doubt it.

The opposite of what I expected, given his prolific scoring record with Fleetwood in the Conference: outstanding team/work ethic, good movement, passing and hold-up play....but seemed to lack the confidence (or speed of thought?) to shoot when he got a chance.

Someone else correctly pointed out that our results were actually pretty good when he was in the team, even though he didn't score that many.

He's a case of "jury still out", I think. He made a big jump up in level (Conference to Championship promotion contenders), showed signs of promise but not quite enough...though he did suffer an injury, too. If his poor finishing/scoring record last season does turn out to be down to a lack of speed of thought, then he won't make it. However, if it was just a lack of confidence or he can adapt to the speed of thought required at the higher level.....could be a good move for both clubs.

Wrote off far to quick by some of our fans imo, especially considering he made a massive step up from non league.

He will work very hard (which I appreciate as a fan).

I think he has the potential to get a few at this level. He showed at Blackburn away that he can finish.

Another potentially bizarre decision.

Pearson goes and gets a young striker, pays handsomely for him and now the rumour is he may be available to go out on loan.

This looks, to me, like yet more money wasted.

Vardy ain't a kid anymore. If this happens it will be likely he'll eventually get sold.

Vardy ain't Beckford or Danns.. He was a Pearson signing... And, by the looks of it, a mistake.

I presume the Pearsonites will find some argument for this being a good thing (waits with baited breath)... But I can't see anything positive in it.

With his work ethic and all round game he could compliment a natural goal scorer quite well. But at this level he isn't yet a 20 goal a season strike. Now bare in mind he came from non-league football, and was soon pushed aside as being not quite ready for this leve and struggled with the expectation of fans demanding promotion . However he's now had a full season of hopefully better coaching than what he got at fleetwood.. and if you didn't expect too much too soon, then he could end up having a decent season for you..

Probably Nigel's worst signing since he returned.

Million pound + for a player who doesnt have the ability to play in this division, tries his best and will work his balls off for you mind.

If you can pay his wages might be worth us shifting him out.

Would be glad to see the back of him, whether permanetely or on loan, as long as he isn't part of the squad I'm happy.

First few months of last season I honestly thought, ummm we could of picked up a good player here.

Then from about October/November time, his performances just plummeted and he turned out to be shit.

I guess the gamble was he could've been a success story like Lambert, Holt or Murray, but where as they worked their way up through the leagues, consistently playing, building confidence and honing their craft, he got thrown straight in at the deep end and floundered slightly.

You're welcome to him. Has he got a lift up there sorted? I can always take him if he's struggling.

No, seriously, I really wanted him to do well here, as like any player we sign or wears a Leicester City shirt, you see other clubs signing players from non-league or lower league clubs and they turn into gems, real quality players that have been unearthed, I really wanted it to happen with Vardy, it never happened though.

I did want him to be sent out on loan to a League One club, get him abit of confidence, get him some games, full 90 minute games under his belt and really my problem should be with Pearson not Vardy per se because as much as I got angry and frustrated with Vardy, it was Pearson who persisted playing him and wasted a space on the bench, not sending him out on loan.

My frustrations grew and as I said I should be pointing my finger at Pearson, but anyhow, I don't see Vardy's future here, he's got to go, preferably permanently but if it's a seasons long loan so be it.

You watch him go out on loan, or even leave and become a good player, but like i've always said if a player isn't going to do a job for us, what does it matter if they turn round and are good at another club, if they aren't going to do it here then what's the point in us 'hoarding' them here, be ruthless.

He's OK at best, but then O'Grady was dogshit when he was here.

Chris O'Grady is dogshit. Was playing for a contract whilst on loan at Barnsley and also put the extra effort in as a way of sticking two fingers up to Dave Jones. Vastly overrated by Barnsley fans and I expect him to go back to being the static, slow, lumbering forward he usually is. We got a good deal for 300k if you ask me.

As for Vardy our local journalist has been told by Jones that there is nothing in it, thankfully. Now linked with Kenwyne Jones- we can dream.

Generally I agree Col

However I thought he showed glimpses of a hard working industrious player last season but lacked real quality

He was awesome against us at Oakwell, and during the game I was thinking I couldn't believe we released him (never seen him play that good before)... Strong, held the ball up so well and gave our centre back a bad time all game.

Showed a lot of promise early season, linked up brilliantly with strike partner held it up well for midfielders to join in attack, played the wide men in well... Really aided the team, got 4 in 9 too.

But then got an illness, followed by an injury & never looked the same player, lost form then he seemed to be trying too hard & nothing flowed... Then when our team lost form it compounded his loss of form & he looked pretty poor for a side trying to get back in autos.

Be very disappointed if we loaned him out without having a look at him again, if his early form & promise can be built upon he'll be good for our squad, especially as Beckford is hopefully being sold, Wood was woeful during a run in (it was almost like he was playing against us) & Schlupp is a long way off being a consistent forward probably needing another year with the development squad or out on loan for a year... Meaning we're hardly flush with options up front

To be fair Vardy was Person's only real mistake in terms of transfers in.

He is a hard worker, as has been said it is a massive step up from where he was.  He needs to go somewhere where he will play and score some goals - as with others I think a season in League one would be best, although this should have started the back-end of last season
