Tom's Pasta Posted 11 May 2014 Share Posted 11 May 2014 Anyone recommend any good artists who play predominantly fingerstyle acoustic guitar. Been playing for nearly a year and I have really improved, but I need some music to learn which suits my style. Really into Jack Savoretti at the moment but he's the only one I've found who really suits my style.
Callabinho Posted 11 May 2014 Share Posted 11 May 2014 Right, sit back son. Firstly Thomas Leeb http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhsPYRUqphk - Turn this up full blast on some good cans. Tommy Emmanuel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENJuNCkPfx0 Eric Johnson http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebLaXvkPRR4 Steve Howe http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1ZmIFR4Sc0 A few contemporary guys. Also I suggest you check out some of the Classical/Jazz guys, to help. Paco De Lucia http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j48AShur35A John williams http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfRLMopjDKA And the legendary Joe Pass http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkinLvUrUYE Hope they help! Tom's Pasta Posted 11 May 2014 Author Share Posted 11 May 2014 Mate, thank you so much! I'll definitely check them out, Thomas Leeb and Joe Pass are the only two I recognise from the list (think I need some education on guitar history). Do you play yourself? Lionator Posted 11 May 2014 Share Posted 11 May 2014 Nick Mulvey is a fairly new artist who does a lot of finger-picking that's easy to replicate.

Don't think I can quite replicate that but thanks for introducing me to him well worth checking out his other stuff he's top quality. on the opposite end of the spectrum is Jeff Pianki. Has some nice little runs and some gorgeous chilled out songs. Plus all his music is free on bandcamp. And as always its worth checking our Laura Marling absolutely stunning - plus she's pretty damn fit
