merlin1969 Posted 22 July 2014 Share Posted 22 July 2014 Leonardo Ulloa: Leicester City seal £8m deal for Brighton striker Leicester City have signed Brighton striker Leonardo Ulloa for a club-record £8m on a four-year deal. The fee for the 27-year-old Argentine, who scored 16 goals for the Seagulls in all competitions last season, could reach £10m based on appearances. Brighton chairman Tony Bloom said the Championship club accepted a record fee after Ulloa made it clear he wanted to play in the Premier League. "It was then a case of ensuring we received our valuation," he said. Ulloa joined Brighton on a four-and-a-half-year deal from Spanish side Almeria for about £2m in January 2013. Championship winners Leicester's previous record buy was Ade Akinbiyi, whom they bought for £5.5m in July 2000. Brighton, meanwhile, had never received more than the £1.5m they were paid for Bobby Zamora by Tottenham in 2003, Adam Virgo by Celtic in 2005 and Elliott Bennett by Norwich City in 2011. CloudFox Posted 22 July 2014 Share Posted 22 July 2014 I like this recruitment approach: Team does the double over our title-winning team last season? Sign up their best players for the following season. Welcome Ulloa!

Simmo86 Posted 22 July 2014 Share Posted 22 July 2014 Hi there, Brighton fan here, hope Leo does well for you, he is very good by the way, strengths are holding the ball up And in the air, near the goal, one of the best I have seen. Weakness, gets offside a lot, bit slow and sulks when things don't go His way and moans a lot at refs, as he does not seem to get many decisions go his way. Is he worth 10 million ? Well He is a lot better than McCornack so yes, I suppose your board bragged about money to spend so we held out for a good deal . Most Brighton fans seem Happy that we got that amount For him As we need the money i think to move forward Best of luck in the premier, hope you stay up , good club and fans . At this moment in time he is only worth 8 million, remember that. If he does well, then he'll be worth 10 million to you but about 100 million to us.

lcfcsnow Posted 22 July 2014 Share Posted 22 July 2014 At Brighton there were a few other Spanish speaking players there and as Ulloa doesn't speak english it could be an issue. I hope we're still looking at someone like Blanco or Vietto.

Ric Flair Posted 22 July 2014 Share Posted 22 July 2014 Knocky and Mahrez couldn't speak a word of English when they arrived. Not a issue. Well it is really, he's been in England over 18 months and he still doesn't speak any English according to Adam Virgo who still has a connection with Brighton. That needs rectifying.
