Dr The Singh Posted 23 July 2014 Share Posted 23 July 2014 Obviously it's not in the GB corporations interest!! Doing what's right isn't judged by humanity, sympathy, empathy, but by what effects GB £££££££'s!
Nalis Posted 23 July 2014 Share Posted 23 July 2014 Yay? I don't really take a side on this subject but is it that much to tell Israel to try and limit unnecessary casualties? Politically it is. Uncle Sam has too much vested interest in Israel.

DennisNedry Posted 23 July 2014 Share Posted 23 July 2014 What's to investigate?Israel is only defending itself from continued attack. It's Hamas who need eliminating. Civilized nations react with more restraint, the UK didn't bomb Northern Ireland out of existence because terrorism was killing citizens. I visit Israel for work and the country could do far better. "UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay said Wednesday that around three-quarters of the 650 Palestinians and around 30 Israelis killed in the conflict were civilians, and thousands more have been injured. The toll, she said, includes 147 children killed in Gaza over the past 16 days."

And yet Israel want a ceasefire and Hamas don't, they started this current exchange, and won't end it despite the fact that hundreds of their civilians are being killed. The **** is this idiocy? No-one is saying Hamas are a force for good, what is totally unacceptable is that Israel are slaughtering innocent civilians in response to acts which, whilst also unacceptable, are brought about by their illegal occupation of another nation's sovereign territory. How can a developed nation with elite missile defence systems justify a land invasion and indiscriminate airstrikes in response to rockets which, by and large, are swatted out of the sky? They need to pull their forces the **** out of Palestine and get back to the peace talks.

Bryn Posted 23 July 2014 Share Posted 23 July 2014 I might be mistaken but didn't Egypt and Israel put together a ceasefire a few days ago but Hamas turned it down? Hamas are vile, let me be perfectly clear, vile and jeopardising the safety of their own people for their agenda. But Israel are bullies, to say the least, the terms of the ceasefire did not include lifting the illegal blockade of Gaza which prevents their civilians from moving freely and local impingement of trade which leaves 80% of Gazans reliant on UN aid to survive. Guest MattP Posted 23 July 2014 Share Posted 23 July 2014 Yeah I agree, just amazes me to see how nobody at all seems to be mentioning the actions of Hamas at all. Bryn Posted 23 July 2014 Share Posted 23 July 2014 Yeah I agree, just amazes me to see how nobody at all seems to be mentioning the actions of Hamas at all. The Gaza Strip is the current jewel in the crown of lefty compassion fashion. The bottom line is and has to be that innocent civilians are being slaughtered and Israel as a developed nation and a member of the UN HAVE to act far, far more responsibly here, their actions are enormously inappropriate and disproportionate. And I don't think it's just the left that are outraged, the profound media and political bias when it comes to Israel rightly disgusts most sane individuals. It shouldn't be about taking sides, and I doubt many are any more supportive of the existing Islamic agenda in the region either anyway. It's the fact that this is the 21st Century and civilians should not be massacred by any organisation, let alone a readily identifiable and accountable one. Bryn Posted 23 July 2014 Share Posted 23 July 2014 On top of that, I think there's a growing sense of powerlessness amongst politically attuned civilians in the Western world. It's just so abundantly clear that we have absolutely no influence over the government and media when it comes to these situations. We're fully aware of what's going on and there's next to nothing we can do about it, and that against a backdrop of the continued onslaught on our civil liberties and privacy scandals is an extremely bitter pill to swallow. What usually happens is that some Palestinian boys chuck some rocks over a fence and the Israelis retaliate by sending a drone over and flatten a hospital. I'd be pretty unhappy too if some Jews rolled up and claimed that my house was in their 'holy land'. Frankly, they can f uck off.
