Voll Blau Posted 25 July 2014 Share Posted 25 July 2014 At least it means they'll stop singing "You're not English any more" at us. Because that's what that song's really about, isn't that right lads?
marko Posted 25 July 2014 Share Posted 25 July 2014 Well that's shafted their pre-match announcer's "Welcome to the world famous City Ground" routine.
Unabomber Posted 25 July 2014 Share Posted 25 July 2014 Surely this would only work if their shitty little ground was based in Kuwait. Very confusing for the neutral and for those travelling by car via satnav. Weird.

Voll Blau Posted 25 July 2014 Share Posted 25 July 2014 Well that's shafted their pre-match announcer's "Welcome to the world famous City Ground" routine. Well it justifies it a bit more. People across the world have actually heard of Kuwait.

Stuliasz Posted 25 July 2014 Share Posted 25 July 2014 Is being sponsored by a country any different to being sponsored by a company though? It's unusual and it does sound terrible but it's not really any worse or better in terms of its concept than the iPro Stadium or the KitKat Crescent is it? Happy Fox Posted 25 July 2014 Share Posted 25 July 2014 It has always been the Shitty Ground to me, so this doesn't make much of a difference.
Dan LCFC Posted 25 July 2014 Share Posted 25 July 2014 Embarrassing. I bet you get some using the old "think of the money it brings in" nonsense - like most sell-outs.
Fox in the North Posted 25 July 2014 Share Posted 25 July 2014 They all seem rather chuffed with it on ltlf. They believe that they're about to be hit with shed loads of cash and suddenly ffp doesn't matter anymore, whilst forgetting that their owner has not really spent much at all (I think he was mean to be loaded?) and they still don't have a CEO. Filthy hypocrites.

Filthy hypocrites. Only way of describing them collectively. I am absolutely convinced there isn't a more hypocritical fanbase in the country. The sort of fanbase I would dislike if we were 300 miles from them.

Fox92 Posted 26 July 2014 Share Posted 26 July 2014 I don't know why some of you take the "World famous City Ground" announcement seriously. It's tongue in cheek. Sheffield Untied do the same thing.
J.Lisemore Posted 26 July 2014 Share Posted 26 July 2014 Surprised it hasn't been named the 'Fawaz City Ground'. Forest fans will still adore him and cling onto hope that the guy is actually sane.

Kuwait city is the capital of Kuwait so they are being sponsored by a city in a different country
Corky Posted 26 July 2014 Share Posted 26 July 2014 Well, that will give Physco millions of pounds to spend in the transfer market. But why should he need to? Didn't they have the best team in the league last year, wrecked by injuries, King Billy's madness (amazingly overlooked in the fawning over William when he made his glorious return to take them back to the Cloughie days) and other teams raising their game against this giant of the game?
