Larry_LCFC Posted 30 July 2014 Share Posted 30 July 2014 I know Ronnie mentioned this in the premier league thread, but as not everyone reads that, it may as well have its own thread. Initially to be used only in the Premier League and JPT. I personally think its a good idea. There is too much shuffling forward with free kicks in football and I really cant see any negatives. Some are complaining that it will slow the game down, but in reality it will take just seconds to do. Anything to make the game fairer is good in my book. Thoughts? http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/20876/9400532/premier-league-vanishing-spray-to-be-introduced-in-all-games-this-season
Richard Posted 30 July 2014 Share Posted 30 July 2014 Won't slow the game out in the slightest. If anything just makes sure that the referee always marks out the 10 yards and could speed up the game by reducing the kick taker whinging about encroachment
Fox92 Posted 30 July 2014 Share Posted 30 July 2014 It won't slow the game down if players adhere to it and just stand behind the line.
Voll Blau Posted 30 July 2014 Share Posted 30 July 2014 Common sense. No one should be opposed to this.

Larry_LCFC Posted 30 July 2014 Author Share Posted 30 July 2014 also needs the same for throw ins I thought that, but could you imagine how much spray they would need
iamafox Posted 30 July 2014 Share Posted 30 July 2014 also needs the same for throw ins Why would the spray be needed for that when the touchlines are already marked?
Larry_LCFC Posted 30 July 2014 Author Share Posted 30 July 2014 Why would the spray be needed for that when the touchlines are already marked? I assume he means the position of the throw. In fairness some of them do end up getting taken half a mile away from where it went out. No practical way of ever marking it really.
andog Posted 30 July 2014 Share Posted 30 July 2014 Think this is a great move by the FA, along with goal line technology we'll see a smarter and fairer set of rules. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28573296 http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/jul/30/premier-league-introduce-vanishing-spray

Dan LCFC Posted 31 July 2014 Share Posted 31 July 2014 Common sense. Very good invention and worked in the World Cup. A small progressive move but a progressive one nontheless.
