EGBFitness Posted 23 August 2014 Share Posted 23 August 2014 I've seen a few LCFC fans saying that Mahrez should be dropped next game. Personally I think that's crazy! I am a big fan of mahrez and it's clear to see that his a massive threat to teams. We do have good competition on the wings now but definitely think Mahrez should be in starting 11. Would of been nice to see him take a shot on rather than try and take the opponent again today but I'm sure this would of been mentioned to him today
Harry - LCFC Posted 23 August 2014 Share Posted 23 August 2014 Needs to be banned from taking corners. But yeah decent otherwise.

Beliall Posted 23 August 2014 Share Posted 23 August 2014 there was a moment in the first half, he looked world class going one on one, then completely messing up. he has bags of potential
Fox92 Posted 23 August 2014 Share Posted 23 August 2014 Thought he was decent enough today. Only problems I had with him were his corners, and not shooting when the opportunity came. Two or three times he could/should have shot on his favoured left foot.
Clever Fox Posted 23 August 2014 Share Posted 23 August 2014 He made some poor decisions today, but that's all part of the learning curve. great to see he wasn't fazed by the big names of Chelsea and had the confidence to try and take them on. He has to stay in the side as it's the only way he will learn. He also won't come up against defenders of the caliber of Chelsea every week. copunk Posted 23 August 2014 Share Posted 23 August 2014 massive fan of riyad, at times today when he was running at the full back he looked class, full of confidence and has the ability to dazzle anyone, however, tried too much at times today, without doubt our biggest threat going forward from midfield, dropping him would be madness
Dan LCFC Posted 23 August 2014 Share Posted 23 August 2014 Thought too much was asked of him at times. He's an excellent dribbler but even Messi will struggle to turn three Chelsea defenders at once. His corners were Gallagher-esque, mind.
Riot Van Posted 23 August 2014 Share Posted 23 August 2014 This isn't a dig but I did notice he was the only Leicester player not to clap the fans at the beginning on the match. Today he was ok, corners were abysmal but that bit where he turned azpiliblahblah and shot shows what quality he has.

Bamba's Babes Posted 23 August 2014 Share Posted 23 August 2014 He was our biggest attacking threat for the second game in a row. He caused the Champions-elect a headache at times today, yes he was missing the final ball but maybe somebody else should step up and help him out in an attacking sense. Enjoy Riyad whilst he is here; bigger fish will be circling soon enough.
BoyJones Posted 23 August 2014 Share Posted 23 August 2014 He did okay today, a couple of bits of real skill plus a sublime pass, but also some poor crossing / corners and drifted in and out of the game. This is a massive step up for him playing at this level week in week out. He needs to stay in the team as the more games / experience he gets, the more effective he will become. cc_star Posted 23 August 2014 Share Posted 23 August 2014 Dropping Mahrez? What are people smoking? He's our only real outlet & best attacking threat based on performances to date over the 180mins so far. Dropping Mahrez, never heard of anything so clueless in my life #foxestalk
Richard Posted 23 August 2014 Share Posted 23 August 2014 Had moments of brilliance alongside some poor decision making, like Knockaert he's a bit too one footed. Maybe give him a rest in the cup and give an opportunity to Albrighton to gain some match practice. No doubt Mahrez is our best player technically and will be very important for us this season but he's far from the finished product.

STUHILL Posted 23 August 2014 Share Posted 23 August 2014 Needs to work on his delivery but he has so much flair and can unlock any defence with some of his tricks! He is still learning but by far our most exciting player going forward. Would be crazy to drop him!
iamafox Posted 23 August 2014 Share Posted 23 August 2014 Had Knockaert played today, if he got into the positions that Mahrez was in, he would have shot for goal more often.

Drifted in and out of the game? We were playing Chelsea, at Stamford Bridge, I've seen Lionel Messi struggle in such circumstances. With that in mind he had a very good game. Fair enough ht was probably guilty of not pulling the trigger as early as he could sometimes but working the space is 3/4 of the battle at this level. ElusiveEd Posted 23 August 2014 Share Posted 23 August 2014 I'm a big fan of Riyad but today his corner taking was woeful. I did notice numerous times that if he looked like going on one of his runs with the ball Chelsea put 3 players close on him instantly to nip it in the bud. Teams have done their homework on him and know where that threat lies. Somehow he seems to nearly always come away with the ball and there is no doubting his skills. He's a bit like Knocky, when his runs, shimmies, step overs, twists and turns come off he's brilliant, but when it doesn't you get the groans from the crowd. Trouble is, they ain't going to "come off" if he doesn't try, so, for me, he can do what does all day as there is nothing better than watching him. There is no doubting his talent but I think he needs to be a nit more "Crafty" and not be so "Honest" at times.
MooseBreath Posted 23 August 2014 Share Posted 23 August 2014 He looked every bit like a player trying to get himself noticed today. Key word being 'himself'. Although it's great that he wanted the ball and wanted to create something, his eagerness to impress whoever was not what his team needed today. I reckon Pearson will have had some strong words with the boy.

He was the lynchpin in several critical moves against Everton. He was at times trying to do a little too much today but he is a very technically gifted player that needs to improve on his decision making, physique, and strength. Really fun to watch when he turns players around like he did with Barry in the buildup to the Wood equalizer.
ousefox Posted 23 August 2014 Share Posted 23 August 2014 Good player but annoys me when he takes too many touches. There was a time when he didn't cross it straight in and tried to take on 3 Chelsea players.
