Guest LCFC_World Posted 24 August 2014 Share Posted 24 August 2014 Twenty is Plenty Campaign. Hello all, As I’m sure most of you are well aware, Leicester City fans were charged £50 for a standard adult match ticket against Chelsea on Saturday. Most of us fans find it a struggle to afford £50 on top of travel and any other expenses that you come across when following the mighty foxes. £50 for the average fan is everything, as I’m sure a vast majority of fans reading this would agree. Us fans need to make a stand sooner rather than later, West Ham United made £1,500,000+ on ticket income alone on the opening weekend against Tottenham, they have no right nor no need to charge prices as high as that, and that’s just one example. This is why I would like Leicester City fans, or any other fan of any other club for that matter, to join forces and help try and tackle a very big problem in Football that’s kicking the working class out of the game. I would like, if possible to organise a protest. The venue or anything for that matter has not been decided, but liking a post or retweeting on twitter is not enough, something more has to be done about this. £20 is plenty for someone to pay for an away game, and the clubs will still be having a fair amount of income coming in. Please if anyone is interested post a reply and let’s try and sort something, I’m sure you do not want to be forking out £50+ every away game you attend, football needs to be for all. Thank-you. Please also become a member and sign the petition here. http://fsf.org.uk/campaigns/away-fans/score-campaign-twentys-plenty-for-away-tickets/
Fox92 Posted 24 August 2014 Share Posted 24 August 2014 I do agree with all of that. But the Premier League don't seem/want to listen whatever happens, even when FSF march right up to their doors. Apparently I've already signed that petition though.
Dan LCFC Posted 24 August 2014 Share Posted 24 August 2014 Joined a while ago. Ultimately the only way it'll stop is if fans stop going and we don't have the collective mentality to do anything about it in England. I was at Chelsea yesterday but didn't actually pay. Kitchandro Posted 24 August 2014 Share Posted 24 August 2014 Protests can be ignored. If you don't accept paying more than £20 then don't go to any matches at all this season.
Marmite Posted 24 August 2014 Share Posted 24 August 2014 It is what it is I am afraid. I don't like paying the higher prices but I have two choices, either I go or I stay away. Even if you got 1000 people to join the campaign it would still not be enough to make a difference with all the fans that attend Premiership games, Also i think your being a bit optimistic at £20, Leicester are charging £15 for a League Cup game. Sorry to sound negative but your pissing in the wind with this one
NZ_Foxile Posted 26 August 2014 Share Posted 26 August 2014 Agree. Already signed the petition some time ago. I didn't go to Chelsea as I refuse to pay £50 for a regular league match. Ridiculous - Pure greed. Premier League clubs get enough income as it is, no need to fleece fans.
Manwell Pablo Posted 26 August 2014 Share Posted 26 August 2014 Bad as it is to say this it works in my benefit this season. Absolutely no chance I'd ever get to an away game if it weren't for the fact that most of our ST's either can't afford or justify to pay £100-£200 on a football match 19 times a season. Having said that I'll sign it. Not that it will do much good mind.
Grewks Posted 2 September 2014 Share Posted 2 September 2014 Reducing the prices will not mean 'football for all'. It will mean that people like myself will have more competition from fans who are willing to go if prices are lowered. If you do not want to pay, don't go....we will sell out anyway. Dan LCFC Posted 2 September 2014 Share Posted 2 September 2014 More competition = genuine reason for expansion = matchgoing fanbase grows. And surely if you've got more booking history you'll be ahead of newcomers anyway?
CharlieCharles Posted 19 January 2016 Share Posted 19 January 2016 The premier league have announced a big change involving ticket prices, starting next season. This change will only apply for away fans, and not home fans. Next season is also the year PL clubs start getting money for the tv deal... surely this has to be twentys plenty? char123 Posted 19 January 2016 Share Posted 19 January 2016 I dont agree with some of the ticket prices but i am afraid that sky and the premier league screwed it up when they signed the first premier league tv rights and i agree with dan lcfc that the only way we could do something about it is stop goin to matches and ditch sky tv but thats never gonna happen. I think £20 is a bit low to be fair but i think it should be capped at maybe £30-£
