Bamba's Babes Posted 30 August 2014 Share Posted 30 August 2014 The Sun reporting that we've had £6.5M rejected and now we're offering £8M. Please tell me I'm having a nightmare?
Dan LCFC Posted 30 August 2014 Share Posted 30 August 2014 What utter bollocks!!! lol Yeah, because Ipswich would turn down £6.5mil wouldn't they?
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 30 August 2014 Share Posted 30 August 2014 I think we should file this one under "very unlikely" edit: ...at that price
Dan LCFC Posted 30 August 2014 Share Posted 30 August 2014 I think we should file this one under "very unlikely" I was thinking more "complete and utter ****ing drivel which the author should have his job be put into question for" but it depends how nice you are I suppose
AKCJ Posted 30 August 2014 Share Posted 30 August 2014 To be fair, I'd want him if we were still a Championship club and the fee was under 3m. Think he's a very tidy player at that level and has really shone at Ipswich.
CountesthorpeFox Posted 30 August 2014 Share Posted 30 August 2014 This is so random and unbelievably unlikely that part of me thinks even the most imaginative journalist couldn't make this up and there must be something in it!
chicagofox Posted 30 August 2014 Share Posted 30 August 2014 But we're not in the Championship and the fee quoted is much more than 3 million.
Brooksy Posted 30 August 2014 Share Posted 30 August 2014 Why would we go straight in with £6.5m for someone so average? Obviously a load of shite.
teblin Posted 30 August 2014 Share Posted 30 August 2014 Chris wood is as good if not better. Can't see this being true.

st albans fox Posted 30 August 2014 Share Posted 30 August 2014 Ipswich fans rate him. If they sold him, they would feel their season was over already. Just come back from an injury. Not sure he is PL standard and that fee!!!
Libertine Posted 30 August 2014 Share Posted 30 August 2014 John Percy just confirmed this.

UpTheLeagueFox Posted 30 August 2014 Share Posted 30 August 2014 Someone clearly heard a rumour about this yesterday afternoon before The S*n tweeted about it http://twitter.com/JBermingham94/status/505377370430521344 If we are in for him, it would suggest the two other striking targets are unlikely to happen and/or Vardy's injury is worse than we thought. £6-8m though? Good player but that's enormous money. edit: about the same price as Loic Remy and double what Liverpool paid for Rickie Lambert

roblcfc84 Posted 30 August 2014 Share Posted 30 August 2014 This can't be true surely - I always look for the positives but 8 million for a player with an average scoring record. Even 15 in 34 isn't amazing in the championship. If this goes ahead for the first time in a long time I'd seriously question NP judgement on this one. roblcfc84 Posted 30 August 2014 Share Posted 30 August 2014 Seriously is it me or does this feel like a panic buy? The other signings including Simpson all work for me but given we were linked with Pelle and Cardozo earlier in the summer, then Waris and N'Doye and now Mckgoldrick. Not great! Rather stick with what we have.
