jogsuk Posted 18 September 2014 Share Posted 18 September 2014 We have two this season that came in; Ulloa & Cambiasso. It used to be that players had to play a number of games for their countries to qualify for their work permits; How did our players qualify? Anybody know? Danizen Posted 18 September 2014 Share Posted 18 September 2014 Ulloa came to Brighton from Spain. It's easier to get visas over there, isn't it?

Stadt Posted 18 September 2014 Share Posted 18 September 2014 It only takes South Americans two years to gain a passport in Spain.
fatboy Posted 18 September 2014 Share Posted 18 September 2014 Cambiasso has an italian passport as his great, great grandfather emigrated from Italy to Argentina, so he's entitled to an Italian passport.
Xen Posted 18 September 2014 Share Posted 18 September 2014 Cambiasso has an italian passport as his great, great grandfather emigrated from Italy to Argentina, so he's entitled to an Italian passport. I thought it was more the fact that he's lived there for the past decade...

Houdini Logic Posted 19 September 2014 Share Posted 19 September 2014 New Zealand I don't have much faith or expectations in the people on this forum but even I think this is an explanation too far!
Dan LCFC Posted 19 September 2014 Share Posted 19 September 2014 Chris Wood has got to be dual nationality, surely? Thinking about it... Morgan - Jamaica/England Ulloa - Argentina/Spain Cambiasso - Argentina/Italy Schlupp - Ghana/England/Germany Mahrez - Algeria/France Unless that Pier Larrauri kid is still on our books... mcm Posted 19 September 2014 Share Posted 19 September 2014 Well not sure about wood but he could be but I don't think he is!
jogsuk Posted 19 September 2014 Author Share Posted 19 September 2014 Mr Wood would qualify for a work permit because he has played enough games for New Zealand recently.
Deucalion Posted 19 September 2014 Share Posted 19 September 2014 Chris Wood came from an English academy, so doesn't that make him naturalised anyway? And I'm not sure how long for, but he lived in this country before his football career.
