I guess it helps owning the whole set of films on bluray being a fan of the original and sequel. What's peoples take on it? Thinking mans game this imo, finally something different. Just watched the review and it does look like a decent game however not being a fan of sneaking around for hours on end I don't think this is a game for me. Yes, both IGN and Gamespot effectively slated it. I reckon they're still counting the pound notes off the back of the greatest new IP of all time courtesy of Activision. The IGN reviewer struggles to comes to terms with how the game is meant to be played over the course of his review. The same guy who gave COD Ghosts 8.8. Take it with a pinch of salt. My only gripe with it from a technical standpoint is some of the cutscenes are choppy, jitter a bit and it can take you out the experience. Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 16 October 2014 Share Posted 16 October 2014 8.5 out of 10. + finally the license put to good use + atmosphere (soundtrack, voice acting, ambiance) + Alien A.I, never seen or experienced anything quite like it + Pacing + Graphics + Really do feel helpless at times, like there is no way to outsmart a perfect organism, but rarely feel cheated. + Save points, really add to the tension. + A real challenge (on hard, at least), rare in games these days + Crafting system - Choppy cut scenes - Loud bloody cupboard doors Great game, if you're a fan of survival horror and/or of the Alien franchise is a must play.
