Match Ratings : Newcastle 1-0 Leicester - Vote Now

I didn't know if I could ever rate a player under 5 but these last three games haven't been the most encouraging.

Morgan, Moore and Drinkwater were great though. Ulloa was probably the least effective on the pitch, apart from that pass to James that should have been a goal.

rapid fire clicking out of anger but i think i gave drinky a 6, nuge and the defence a 5, a few 4s and 2s for schlupp and ulloa. not cos i think they were actually worth 2/10 but cos 2 has the word "dismal" next to it and that summed them up today. it's summed up schlupp's season tbf. it sums up schlupp.

Only rated one player under 5 (konch - 4).

Thought most were below average but for me James and de laet were my highest rated players with a 6 and the others got a 5... We were playing much better when they scored because they got a lucky counter from our blocked shot... Defence should have never let him get a shot in tho, it was the only thing he was going to do.

I didn't think Schmeichal was too bad today. I do think the goal was somewhat De Laet's fault but other than that he was constantly trying to threaten down the wing. I think Morgan was reasonably solid but Moore had a rare bad game which also showed his experience with some judgements he made. Konchesky was constantly making errors and not his finest game in any way. I thought Matty should have scored but apart from that he and Drinkwater were trying to find ways through and get things going. I thought Cambiasso was somewhat non existent and I don't want that from a player of his calibre. I felt Schlupp never got into the game but also at the same time no one brought him into the game. Felt the left was rarely used. Didn't really notice Albrighon either apart from a couple of crosses. Ullua I think was unfortunately just isolated on his own and couldn't do much about that. I felt we looked more exciting and threatening the moment Vardy came on but I'm not sure if I am simply biased towards him but I want him starting every game. I think if we are to play Nuge on the right he needs some additional training at quicker decisions and the early pass as he often holds on to it too long. Possibly the Striker in him looking for the shot.

I think overall we were bad, we haven't been great for the last three games but we have shown we are capable and I'm sure we will survive. I also think it was somewhat inevitable that Newcastle would break their form against us, it is expected as a LCFC fan.

Schmeichel 5 - Still doesn't inspire confidence, Krul was so much better. Threw the ball to a Newcastle player which should have resulted in a red card for De Laet.

Konch 3 - Looks off the pace, terrible back pass should have been a Newcastle goal. Doesn't offer anything going forward.

Moore 3 - Could have been sent off, looked useless, poor attempt at a challenge helped Newcastle score.

Morgan 7 Motm - Did his job well, although I'm not sure he's a vocal captain.

De Laet 6 - Thought he deserved a 6 for offering something up front and didn't defend too badly but should have been issued a straight red.

Schlupp 3 - Useless

James 5 - Not involved enough, most accurate pass was to the opposition goalkeeper.

Drinkwater 6 - Average

Cambiasso 5 - He's old he's slow... and that was about it today.

Albrighton 5 - Not involved enough

Ulloa 6 - Set up James who should have scored and caused a few problems, was on for a 7 until a poor last half hour.

Vardy 7 - Looked most likely to make something happen

Nugent 6 - Unable to pick a ball from out wide

Knockaert 6 - A few good runs, should have been set up by Vardy in injury time

Pearson 5 - Failed to get us going after a sluggish start, team selection and tactics questionable.

Schmeichel 5 - no chance with the goal, crap distribution.

De Laet 6 - don't understand the hate myself; thought he did alright.

Morgan 6 - relatively untroubled.

Moore 7 - did really well but ought to have been sent off.

Konchesky 5 - almost cost us a goal

James 5 - should have scored and was otherwise anonymous

Drinkwater 5 - last season is starting to look like the exception rather than the rule

Cambiasso 4 - very poor. Constantly gave the ball away.

Albrighton 4 - embarrassing. The only time he even looked like contributing was a massively over hit cross when he had plenty of time and space to deliver. 3/3 crap performances so far.

Schlupp 4 - as bad as Albrighton.

Ulloa 5 - no service but didn't do much with what he got.

Subs:

Vardy 6 - our best attacker. Should start every game.

Nugent 5 - better than Burnley but final ball

Not good enough.

Knockaert 5 - meh

And the referee was atrocious.

Every single marginal call went Newcastle's way and the or significant call he had to make when Moore made a clearly deliberate handball to stop a cross he didn't give him a second yellow card.

Absolutely terrible refereeing.

Morgan, Moore & Vardy get my highest ratings of 7.

Kasper, Drinkwater, Albrighton, Knockaert get a 6.

Everyone else a 5. Schlupp and Ulloa and Konchesky a 4.

Pearson to stay (obviously).

Newcastle performance good. Referee a 5.

As someone who missed the game, this thread has the consistency as a loud dyer cross. No idea who had a bad game, or an alright game. Never seen such a split in opinion, I wasn't surprised to here the result. I can honestly say I've only been confident in one game this season and that was burnley. We needed a left back, I don't what to slag off Konch as he had been superb this season but generally we needed to upgrade. Pearson. Made some big calls today, but the wrong ones: Vardy is our most effective player, there is no way he should be dropped in any game unless he is too tired to keep doing what he does. Leo is so overrated for me, yes he's a good finisher but be doesn't offer half what Nuge and vards do for me. Albrighton over Knocky???? Urm don't be silly, proven over purchase, will do knockys confidence no good. And my rant has to finish with schlupp... He's not proven himself in a single game, how he's lasted this long in the starting line up is a joke. Yes I like the man, yes I want him to progress, but right now he's not far off of league 1 standard and he's not even a touch on what Dyer was.. It kills me to sat it but we miss that man far more then any fan will ever admit. He loved Leicester and he would put it all on the line for the team, he grew to his best form with us an we wouldn't even offer him 2 years of security .. Bad move thais!!! I'm not usually negative but it hurts to see the management get things so wrong, to me it looks obvious. If we don't either improve in January or take a new approach we will not survive, the premier league takes new tactics for each game... I have faith in Nigel but he really needs to take a more harsh stance on the squad

I find it staggering that Liam Moore can get a 7 off people.

We make threads asking for him to be in the England side when we've had 1 clean sheet all season now this?

I think him and Konchesky have done superbly well so far this season but they were both poor today.

Moore is a great defender but it seems he's above criticism from most which leads to us all massively over rating him
