RedSoxUK Posted 19 October 2014 Share Posted 19 October 2014 ...that Richie DeLaet's two footed challenge wasn't a red card, and Liam Moore's blatant hand ball wasn't a red card. Could have been a lot worse.

st albans fox Posted 19 October 2014 Share Posted 19 October 2014 Tbh, I didn't see the arm move towards the ball - it was raised so I can understand the free kick being given. However, it wasn't a yellow card one so why he felt the need to do the face thing is a bit embarrassing for him. As far as being lucky is concerned, the way RDL's shot bounces into cisse's path to set up the counter can hardly be said to be lucky. I do think it's about time we showed some nouse when teams are breaking dangerously against us and make some tactical fouls. yellow cards are better than conceding. Said this same thing about 'taking one for the team' in the car on the way home yesterday.Gary Neville was saying the same regarding liverpools 3rd goal today 'Henry should have taken out sterling out, at the half way line' ... We are still very naive in this respect!
Captain... Posted 20 October 2014 Share Posted 20 October 2014 Said this same thing about 'taking one for the team' in the car on the way home yesterday. Gary Neville was saying the same regarding liverpools 3rd goal today 'Henry should have taken out sterling out, at the half way line' ... We are still very naive in this respect! Said this in the post match thread, we are naïve, and it cost us the points against Burnley and the goal at Newcastle, 3 people backing off was very poor, but it seems to be our default setting, we don't have to go flying in with a tackle, but someone had to pressure Cisse not let him carry it to the edge of the area. MattGamble92 Posted 20 October 2014 Share Posted 20 October 2014 Moore's previous yellow card made him back off Obertan for the goal. Should have subbed him. Loved it when he pretended the ball hit his face. Standard

Probably also backed off because Obertan would have skipped past him as he has disgusting pace.

Probably also backed off because Obertan would have skipped past him as he has disgusting pace. James should have closed the ball down on the halfway line though, we had 2 others back and all he needed to do was clip Obertan's heels on the half way line and take a yellow card. Instead he backed off to the edge of the box and let Obertan cut inside onto his right foot (which he was always going to do.) Hammond would have certainly committed the foul in that situation. Can't argue with that. So James has cost us twice with his decisions regarding free kicks?! Haha.
Stadt Posted 20 October 2014 Share Posted 20 October 2014 Hammond commits fouls when nobody else would though because he's so immobile. We need a big physical presence in midfield like Moussa Sissokho, Diame would have been perfect.
