King not free to talk to clubs in January- signs new 4 year deal

Recommended Posts

Hope he stays. He's probably the only one who has gone through it all as much as the fans. Relegation, promotion, playoff heartbreak, promotion to premier league.

Like above, it'd be weird seeing him in a shirt that isn't Leicester City's.

Would like to see him get a new deal, he's never let us down at all really, been in a bit unlucky last couple of seasons as he's lost his place to players who are just a bit better than him.

Would understand if he wanted to leave though for regular football.

Isn't it only foreign clubs he can talk to?

Don't go bringing facts into this, Pearson is letting King leave on a free in January, it's disgusting, Pearson out!!!

Edit: Although I think the rule is they can sign a pre contract agreement with a foreign club in January if his contract expires in the summer, not sure about talking to other clubs, but he can sign for a foreign club if he wants.

His performance in the second leg at Watford deserved a lifelong contract

in all seriousness kingy is a hero. he's played in near enough every big game for the past 6 years and has been incredible in most of them. all the play off games he's been motm, scored in all the wins vs forest (3-0, 2-3, 1-0), scored vs city in the cup game, scored in wins vs derby. "great servant" gets thrown around way too much but he has served our club like a king.

and has proven in the past 3 months he still has a lot to offer. it would be mental to not get him signed up for at least the next few years.

Even in games like Scunthorpe away in League One (top of the table match winner), the run to the play-offs in 2010 (three goals in four games including two winners), basically keeping us in the division early on under Sousa and scoring a couple of crucial goals in the play-off run-in 18 months ago.

Add his many faces and beautiful goals- he has to stay.

yeah this is what i said in a thread when a few were saying get rid after we'd gone up. that and;

he has been one of our best players, if not consistently our best, for the five years or so he's been in our first team up until about 10 games into this season.

he was our top scorer (from midfield) one year, our young player of the year, our player's player of the year (voted for by his teammates) TWICE and featured in the championship's team of the year (voted for all the players in the division) one season too. he was made our captain for a season or so at the age of 23 on top of all that, too.

oh and to add he is now the top scoring midfielder in the whole of this club's 130 year history.

he's been through it all and is still valuable to this team. pearson knows that. he'll be offered a new deal for sure.

In my opinion, there are not many more loyal to our club than Andy King. As others have said, he has gone through it all like we have as supporters, so it would be a big loss if we let him walk out without trying to keep him.

As Bert and Stan have said - would seem weird not seeing him in our shirt.

He does have his critics and you can see why, games do pass him by and we have been overrun in midfield, but you look at the big games like play-offs and he's turned up, when we need a player to get the side going or score important goals (such as 2010 in the play-off run) and play well in local derbies, he's been there. Early this season we missed our two most influential players possibly and he stood up and was counted against top sides.

Pearson's said several times how good he is to manage, he should be offered a new deal.

Only thing I ever blame him for was not cropping Anya when he ran down the wing and crossed for Deeney, bet it still haunts him now.

watch it back and there is a few seconds when he could just crop him but he doesnt.

Apart from that an absolute leg end
