Which songs make you lose faith in Society?

Recommended Posts

What is the one song that just makes you want to kill yourself? (And why is it Niki Minaj's 'Anaconda'?)

The fact that enough people actually paid money to buy this, to get it into the charts, just makes me lose all hope for the future of our species. Anyone else have any truly horrific songs?

Black Eyed Peas - I got a feeling

Robin Thicke - Blurred Lines

Not because they're any more shit than most terrible pop music by talentless tossers, but purely because they're more popular. You can tell anyone who likes them is a total wankshaft.

I really have never understood this kind of thing, nobody forces you to listen to music you don't like. I never listen to stuff I don't like and therefore have no urges to kill myself.

You're right in that, if I stayed at my house and avoided all social contact with the outside world, then I wouldn't have to listen to it. If it was up to me, I'd love to oblivious that such rubbish exists.

However, if I go to the gym, the shops, for a night out or get stuck on the bus with an angry horde of chavs, then I'll often have to endure such crap. You can't escape it.

I don't tend to listen to stuff in the charts *HIPSTER KLAXON* - but Blurred Lines was a ****ing brilliant pop song.

Too many. What happened to music standing for something? Look back at the likes of The Smiths and The Jam, they were anti-establishment, they wrote music that stood for working class people.

My housemates play a lot of rubbish. I miss being in halls when I could just go next door and chill with my mate who had the same taste.

There has been a lack of that in the last couple of decades, either kids simply aren't angry anymore or the artists that write that sort of music simply don't get a chance.  The music industry has never been so bland, at least with the internet you can search and find the odd gem.

Not a fan of pop music but I don't mind Taylor Swift. I'd not go out and buy her albums, but I don't think her records are rubbish. She comes across as decent as well, saw her on Graham Norton a few weeks back and she seemed quite funny.
