You're right in that, if I stayed at my house and avoided all social contact with the outside world, then I wouldn't have to listen to it. If it was up to me, I'd love to oblivious that such rubbish exists. However, if I go to the gym, the shops, for a night out or get stuck on the bus with an angry horde of chavs, then I'll often have to endure such crap. You can't escape it. Look back at the likes of The Smiths and The Jam, they were anti-establishment, they wrote music that stood for working class people. My housemates play a lot of rubbish. There has been a lack of that in the last couple of decades, either kids simply aren't angry anymore or the artists that write that sort of music simply don't get a chance.
