Mjeb Posted 6 November 2014 Share Posted 6 November 2014 Do get the feeling Stringer is desperate to stir up trouble on Nigel Pearson , due to the form at the moment , not sure any true Leicester fabn thought we were going to fInd it easy in the Premier .On the show on Monday last week , he was desperately trying to stir up the situation following another loss ? Donut Posted 6 November 2014 Share Posted 6 November 2014 Not particularly. He is reporting on whats going on, and needs to ask questions about performances, team selections and such, or else there would be no interview in the first place. Pearson needs to handle him without being obnoxious. Its that simple.
Mark_w Posted 6 November 2014 Share Posted 6 November 2014 He has done that during every tough spell we've had under Nigel. I assume it's to encourage debate to improve the radio shows, rather than because he has a vendetta against Nigel Pearson, but who knows.

Mjeb Posted 6 November 2014 Author Share Posted 6 November 2014 You can tell with Stringer , he gets excitable if there is an opportunity to stir some poo with person , not sure it's all roses with stringer , probably just doing his job most of the time , there is a% of stringer that likes to stick the boot in , when the topic of person comes up - let's hope he does not push it to far . You never know what you may end up wit has a replacement !!! Person. Deserves some slack on the current form if the moaners get their way they would have him out know ( eg stringer) It is not going to be easy at all in this league 1mistake can loose you the game. Up the city and Pearson
Basingstoke Fox Posted 6 November 2014 Share Posted 6 November 2014 Don't think so personally. He's had people calling in suggesting that he should be sacked (which seems ridiculous to me but we're all entitled to our opinions) but Stringer has at times defended him. For example, someone was bleating on about us not sticking to the same side that beat United in the following games, when we actually did against Palace and Stringer made that point. I actually get the impression that Stringer would rather that NP was in charge than not. That said, it is his job to create discussion and generate interest in the program so I wouldn't be surprised if he did provoke it a little from time to time (which would be completely unnecessary and bad for the club if anything). Babylon Posted 6 November 2014 Share Posted 6 November 2014 100% he does. Whether that's down to him wanting to get one over on Pearson because of previous run ins, or him wanting to produce and "exciting" story that gets reactions, I'm not sure. Not sure he would have a job for long if his bosses thought he was on a personal crusade to remove NP. A lot of legal implications in that I would think. Dickov22 Posted 6 November 2014 Share Posted 6 November 2014 Often the radio station are desperate for callers, I've seen them regularly on Twitter trying to get people to call in. He's bound to try and stir up emotion to get people calling the show and make it more interesting. He's just doing his job

I'm sure it's more to do with trying to get a juicy story and more callers etc, but he does seem a bit over eager sometimes.
chris_lcfc_85 Posted 6 November 2014 Share Posted 6 November 2014 I never get the stick for Stringer..... yes on odd occasions he can be a bit arrogant or controversial but so what...... He's a decent commentator that does his best to keep us all updated and has some passion for the club. He pushes the boundaries when interviewing NP but why not.... its his job and at least he's trying his best to get answers out of him for us. I think NP can be quite rude to him at times but Stringer sticks with it
Russell sprout Posted 6 November 2014 Share Posted 6 November 2014 Stringers excellent at his job, have you heard local radio at away games, there usually terrible, and makes you hear how good he is at his job, I know a previous commenter from radio leicester, When I asked him whats stringer like,he replied 'one of the most professional and passionate people he's ever worked with'. Hey i never said he was the worlds best commentator and there's a reason he's on Radio Leicester and not Sky or the BBC for MOTD. However, still the best we've had for some time, knows alot of stuff and tries his utmost to please the fans with interviews and reporting etc. I can also tell you there's some bang average commentators on the TV

Bert Posted 6 November 2014 Share Posted 6 November 2014 He just tries to get answers from questions that nobody else asks. Easily the best we've had since Foulger, and actually a very good bloke too.

Sadly Stringer is both. He asks awkward questions but in a 'please don't kill me Nigel' way. Leaving us with a pissed off Nigel but without actually getting the answers. Has he categorically asked him 'why have we decided to go so negative all of a sudden'? That's the main question we want answering.

Leaving us with a pissed off Nigel but without actually getting the answers. Has he categorically asked him 'why have we decided to go so negative all of a sudden'? That's the main question we want answering. There's a way to handle Pearson, and asking him bluntly why we're playing negative football isn't the way to go about it. I've not heard any of Ian's interviews with Nigel recently, but something along the lines of asking him the reasoning behind why we played with 4 centre midfielders and no wingers against WBA is better than accusing him of negative football. That way you might actually get some insight into the tactical reasons behind the formation rather than just pissing him off. We know Nigel isn't always the easiest to get answers from so you have to be tactful in interviews.
