Burbo17J2 Posted 8 November 2014 Share Posted 8 November 2014 Yes. He got us here, played great football last season and won it easily... But he is just not good enough at all! The last few weeks I have been defending him, but I've had enough. We need a manager who knows what they are doing *cue all the hate

Sir Shep Posted 8 November 2014 Share Posted 8 November 2014 No hate, I respect anyone's opinion even if I don't agree. Give him time, like when we were in the championship and I'd bet he will come good.
DennisNedry Posted 8 November 2014 Share Posted 8 November 2014 Give him Sunderland and QPR. If we fail to win either, get rid. Pearson looks a lot like Holloway did for Palace last season. Lacking any kind of ideas and out his depth.
dmayne7 Posted 8 November 2014 Share Posted 8 November 2014 'has to go'. Ok then. You want him out, then fine but how an earth does he have to go 11 games into this season?

hejammy Posted 8 November 2014 Share Posted 8 November 2014 Lets not forget we were in the championship last season and we were never going to dominate teams in the prem like we did in the championship, however saying that I do have a problem with Nige at the moment, evidently the confidence is very low within the team and it doesn't seem like Nige is helping with that at all. We have 2 of our most creative players with Knocky and Mahrez not starting, they need to play games to gain experience of the premier league and to worry opposition defences. If we do not attack we leave teams to play out their own tactics and game plan and that is never going to be good for us. The reason why we started well is because we attacked when teams didn't expect us to, we cant just go to the likes of Southampton with a negative attitude to try and grab a point. The sooner Pearson realises this the better. He needs to play his best team and not let personal feelings of "bad attitudes" etc get in the way. I still feel that we will stay up and I still feel that Pearson is the man to do that for us. However he needs to quickly pull his head out of his ass and sort out the confidence issues of the players and get them playing the football we were playing in the first 4 or 5 games. Stadt Posted 8 November 2014 Share Posted 8 November 2014 Pearson doesn't know what he's doing because his newly promoted side have lost 2-0 to the team sat in second place that had won 10 of their last 11? Yeah we've been shit but if we got Pulis in we'd still be in a relegation scrap and god forbid lose games.
premier blues Posted 8 November 2014 Share Posted 8 November 2014 If we don't get anything from the next 2 games it will happen I think. Don't see how you can keep going into games trying to come away with a point when we have only managed one clean sheet all season

TheUltimateWinner Posted 8 November 2014 Share Posted 8 November 2014 He doesn't HAVE to go. But i'm a meh at the moment, don't know how I'd feel if he was to go, a part of me would be pleased with a change of emphasis and tactics (because thats the only way it will happen at the moment) but also I'd be be begrudged because I believe if he wakes up and smells the coffee, we'd be back to winning ways. His inexperience is showing though.
EGBFitness Posted 8 November 2014 Share Posted 8 November 2014 I'm slowly starting to think it, i have been defending him so far. I know it's going to be a long hard season, I really thought we could get a result like we did against Stoke today but the whole team just don't look the same. We seem flat, demotivated, unorganised and unable to cope with opposition and simple set piece plays. I always like it when I see a team stick by their manager and not chop and change all the time but you do have to look at how far Southampton have came, they got rid of Adkins in a similar situation like ours with a manager that got them up from League 1 and they have gon strength to strength. Genuine question, did the quality of our players with high confidence and good teamwork get us up last season or was it Pearsons managerial magic? I look back to our terrible run a couple of years ago when we lost something like 16/17 games and scrapped play offs, when the confidence is low and the odds are stacked against us Pearson doesn't seem to know how to handle it and change
Fox92 Posted 8 November 2014 Share Posted 8 November 2014 Ok then lets change the manager and get a new manager in. Let him rip this squad up, the same squad that everybody was loving, the same squad that won so many plaudits nationally. "It's young, we're in the best position we've been in for years". Lets get rid of that and re-enter the merry-go-round that led to our relegation to the third tier. I question Nigel at the minute, his selection and his tactics. But I also believe he'll turn this around and get it right. I don't care we're in the bottom three at the minute. It's November 8th not May 8th. MarshallForEngland Posted 8 November 2014 Share Posted 8 November 2014 Do any of the Pearson Out clowns actually have any evidence that sacking our manager now is likely to help? I don't mean the odd time where a manager goes on an acceptable run when he arrives at the club or when the previous record is so horrific that regression to the mean can explain any subsequent improvement - I mean actual statistical evidence that shows it is better to sack the manager in these circumstances than keep him. Lacking any kind of ideas and out his depth. Unfortunately I agree with this. They are 2 crucial games against the teams around us. If we can't win those then it won't look good at all. MC Prussian Posted 8 November 2014 Share Posted 8 November 2014 He needs to stay and see it out at least past Christmas/New Year, but my patience with him and his tactics is wearing thin at the moment. He's behaving in frustrating way and sets out the team in a too defensive and passive fashion. Regardless of whether Southampton are sat in second place, you can't go into a match and expect to get anything out of it by simply sitting back and defending. Our midfield is bereft of ideas and confidence and our strikers seem like they can't score for **** lately. I don't know what it is, but it's certainly not all down to the manager.
