Darren Bent On Loan To Brighton

Recommended Posts

Why on earth would anyone want Darren Bent at Leicester. Were lacking in goals so who do we look for? a goalscorer? nah lets go get someone whos been absolute dog mess for ages now.

(Now watch us bring him in in January and bang in 10 goals and survive) lol

Bent could be a good loan signing in January, he could be a Kevin Phillips type signing, or at least a better option off the bench than Wood or Nugent, but I doubt Villa would let him go to a relegation rival we would probably have to make an offer, which I doubt we would do.

(Couldn't find a thread on him so mods please feel free to move if I missed it).

Just seen that Villa are sending Darren Bent out to Brighton on a short-term loan.

As we're struggling for goals, I would look to sign him in January.

1. Bent could just be the thing we need. He is lethal in the box and has what many have called for – "proven quality". 50+ Premier league goals in 110 games at Villa and Sunderland - when he was playing week in week out.

2. He was club captain for a period at Villa - so must have some leadership qualities and a decent attitude. Him not getting a game at Villa is a mystery.

3. He's only 30 so wouldn't just be a quick fix. At least two seasons left in him.

4. He would have a point to prove so motivation wouldn't be a problem - especially if we and Villa are both in a relegation scrap.

The more I think about it, the thought of Bent, Ulloa and Vardy as our options up front make me quite excited. As much as I love Nuge, I have given up on him making an impact this season. I see him more of a squad player at the moment.
