Can't watch Match of the Day

Recommended Posts

I've watched Match of the Day avidly. But now I can't it's so depressing. I know one of the pundits will say we are definitely down and their is no hope. In life I don't normally bury my head in the sand but I have to on this one. Am I alone or going to get crucified?

Truth hurts.

I'm not watching it but thats because once (live) is enough.

Losing is becoming normal though, it's beginning to hurt less, it's routine.

And thereby lies the problem Matt it shouldn't do should it? We should not be expecting to lose week in week out. Very very predictable we lose more or less every away game 2-0

Me or you can't do anything about it.

It's up to the players.

This is the key.

We are going into games expecting to lose. As fans, we looked at yesterday's game beforehand, with little real hope.

Spurs can be great or awful in equal measure, but the prematch thread will typically read like we have little chance.

Under MON's teams (and even under Adams) we went into most games thinking we may have half a chance. Now, the sad indictment is that we have such little expectation, realistically and some seem already resigned to relegation.

Something needs to happen. Some spark from somewhere.

I have never in my 54 years been able to watch Match of the Day when City lose, no matter what division we're in.

City lose and it spoils my whole weekend. My Mrs can't stand football, but she'll always check the City score to see what mood I will be in for the rest of the weekend.

I love reading the Sunday papers, but again, if City lose it puts me off doing that.

A city defeat has a massive effect on me.

Please don't reply with "get a life", that's not helpful at all, what I need is the club to realise what effect they have on my life and for all of them to pull their bloody finger out!!

I struggling to watch us at the match, very, very hard to justify the cost of going home and away every week, if I could get a feeling we could get a win it might get me interested again, but as we speak, I cannot be bothered watching our side how poor they are, just knowing it's going to be the same result, same excuses, and the same bollocks that we will get it right.

Nothing is saying to me things are getting better, but plenty to show me we are so far away from a premier league club, from the manager down.

I've not watched anything from us on MOTD for well over a month.  It's not that its the worst football we've ever played even though we are on an awful run, we've certainly played much worse over the years.  But its the most uncompetitive I've ever seen us in a given league, totally out of our depth and its just deflating that by Christmas, we already know we are done for.

fully understand. As I'm in exile I'd been looking forward to trying to get to a few games, but can't get a ticket anyway, and look ahead each weekend to which games i might get to but then think why bother wasting a day and over £100.

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. Performances like the Man City game give me hope. But, mistakes like in the Man City game make me SO angry. These mistakes happen EVERY week. I'm starting to think an entire new back four is needed in January.

(Edited because of anger-induced typos.)

But as fans we cannot do anything to change it, a majority of us have this opinion that you have described above at this current moment in time, so it's up to the players to prove us wrong.

I keep saying, they are trying and i'll give them that, but they're simply not good enough and if they're not good enough, well, we're ****ed and that's where we are.

Had a very long day yesterday, good day around London, a good few pints in the blind beggar pub, and then I had to spoil it by going to the match.

I don't care what people think, people can call me plastic, but when you go to the effort of following them all over the country, give up a full day, spend best part of £200 a game, as I take the kids, to go and watch a side that isn't even competing in the game/ league and have scored very few away goals, won once away, and getting beat week in, week out, I'm cannot justify the money, when I cannot get excited about the match experience at present.

Pearson keeps bleating on about staying positive, but how can we, we just so far out of our depth it's becoming embarrassing.

i know it looks nailed on that we re relegated but realy all it takes is a win no mtter how if thats an own goal in the last minute and were 3 points off safety again win again after that nd were out of the drop zone. burnley are playing lpool and city hull are playing sunderland and us palace are plying sothampton and QPR and as i say a flukey win v spurs and i reckon well beat hull if they lose to swansea thats all it takes

I don't think the oppressive cost of going to matches is Nigel's fault.

This....100%!!

My other half knows if City win we might end up going out for a meal or a least a takeaway in with some beers, we lose she knows to make other plans as I will sit in the same position on the sofa seething all weekend until we get to do it again the following Saturday.

On a positive note it's been a pretty cheap few months regarding take away's and nights out!

And where did I say it was, but it's hard to justify spending it, to watch a team out of their depth and getting beat every week at a wimper

Sorry I thought I was reading your post in a Pearson out thread, lord knows we have enough for it to be a safe assumption.
