Leicester V Spurs article wanted>

Recommended Posts

Hiya lads and lasses.

Forgive me for approaching you good Leicester folk in this way.

Is there anyone who fancies writing an article on the Boxing day clash between Leicester and Spurs? hasn't got to be too fancy. Just write from the heart.

How do you see the rest of your season going?

How do you see our game going - including a score prediction.

What do you think of Spurs in general? If you hate us - tell us. No problem.

We are not the kind of site that slags other teams off just for the sake of it though.

Here is a couple of sample articles from a Newcastle fan on our cup meeting last week.

I could supply a Spurs view on the game nearer the game too.

1. How do you see the rest of your season going?

I am worried at the moment being a Leicester fan as to when our season is going to start improving. We haven't won in 10+ matches too so at the moment it is hard to see where the points are gonna start coming from for us. But, as you've probably seen, we are not getting hammered in every game inferring we are competitive, were just not getting the right results to progress in our season at the moment. I still have belief we can stay up though. If you look to when Leicester started the season, we were playing very well and if we can get back on track with the type of performances we started the season with, points will surely start to come and I feel then we have a good chance of survival. Having seen how we can perform at this level as well, this reasurres me that the capability is there to stay up.

Well, in my opinion, Tottenham are a good side with a lot of quality players. You're not a team to be taken lightly at all and I think we will have to try to continue to be competitve in this one which we recently have been doing in other matches. We are generally quite good at our home ground, (King Power Stadium) having only losing around three matches so far there in the whole season so it can be a difficult place to come. My score prediction for this game is Leicester 1-1 Tottenham.

On a general overview, you seem ike quite a decent club. A nice ground in White Hart Lane and a good set of fans. You have done excellently well to establish yourselfs in the Premier League for many years now too. Nothing to complain about, all round good honest club.

Any other budding writers who would like to share their views, please?

Hi Jamie,

The following represent my views, please feel free to use any quotes from them as you wish.

Last season represented Leicester City's most successful for a decade, culminating in over 100 points in the Championship. As a club we had been in the wilderness for a long time, the lowest point of which was our relegation to League 1. The older generation of fans like myself remember not only the successes of the Martin O'Neill years but previous excursions into the old Division 1 and FA Cup runs. Comfortable promotion last year seemed to herald the return of the good times, and the positive start to the season (8 points from the first five games including the win over Manchester United) gave hope for the future. However, since then we've been on one of the worst runs in the club's history, gathering only two points from the last twelve games, which has resulted in us being adrift at the bottom of the Premiership.

That run of poor results has been characterised by giving away soft goals, and creating few decent chances. Unless we can address those problems it's difficult to see where the next points are coming from. However, the team is still playing with determination.

We would love to have the quality in our team that Spurs can put out every week. At the start of the season Nigel Pearson said that the players that achieved promotion deserved their chance in the Premier League, and we did very little business over the summer, Leonardo Ulloa being the only player where we spent significant money. As a result the team is largely the one from last season.

If Spurs give their normal performance then I can see us struggling, however anything is possible and all bad runs have to come to an end sometime. I don't like to predict scores, but an average Spurs performance should get you a 0-1 win, anything below par and it could be 0-0 or 1-1. We need to halt the run of losses as soon as possible to have any chance of staying up.

Leicester's local rivals are Nottingham Forest and Derby County, we don't have any history of animosity towards Spurs. Some fans will probably remember the defeat to Spurs in the League Cup final as their most vivid memory. It was a bad day for us but fortunately we put it right the next year by winning the League Cup.

Hi Jamie,

Thanks, I'd hedged my bets on the score but if you're putting me on the spot I'll go for 1-1.
