willie-bell-in-rothley Posted 21 December 2014 Share Posted 21 December 2014 Ive felt quite confident with Hamer, he dosent seem fazed , his overall performance has been very good. Ive not realy noticed Kasper not being there.
Fox92 Posted 21 December 2014 Share Posted 21 December 2014 No... Hamer has done ok since coming in. No chance with those two goals yesterday.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 21 December 2014 Share Posted 21 December 2014 The problem is - with both our keepers - the goals we keep conceding are stupid goals on a plate that keepers have no chance with, or very well taken goals, like Downing's. Certainly Hamer has been no better or worse.

Certainly Hamer has been no better or worse. Would have said quite a few goals conceded with Schmeichel between the sticks were a result of defensive errors that he personally contributed to by not coming & collecting/punching... There's also some questionable positioning that another keeper may have done better with. Shame our team is defending poorly, because I feel we'd be better off with Hamer, who I feel has a more rounded skill set than Kasper

Basingstoke Fox Posted 21 December 2014 Share Posted 21 December 2014 I've been happy with Hamer. If we were to be overly critical we could suggest that he might have come out and closed down Carroll much sooner. But that could've potentially led to a red card or something so it's probably best that he didn't.
The Blue Moon Posted 21 December 2014 Share Posted 21 December 2014 Kaspers been at fault for a lot of goals and near misses, especially from crosses this season. Hamer is a lot more secure. Remains to be seen whether he's a Prem keeper but I'll be happy with him as our championship number one next season.

lgfualol Posted 21 December 2014 Share Posted 21 December 2014 Both keepers don't stand a chance when you have a bunch of pricks in defence.

Fatbloke Posted 21 December 2014 Share Posted 21 December 2014 Not one jot, Kasper, bless his heart, is simply not good enough at this level, totally responsible for both Burnley goals and that for me is what buggered our season !
Dan LCFC Posted 21 December 2014 Share Posted 21 December 2014 Hamer has played well. Kasper was playing well. Was he? A good display at Villa came after two dire displays from him against QPR & Liverpool. Hamer strikes me already as a more consistent and reliable performer. Lcfc_1995 Posted 21 December 2014 Share Posted 21 December 2014 No, Hamer hasn't had a chance with the goals he has conceded, and he made some decent saves in the games vs Stoke and Man City, and he wasn't really tested yesterday.

Manwell Pablo Posted 21 December 2014 Share Posted 21 December 2014 Carols goal would probably of been stopped by the trademark Kasper Star fish Jump save where as Hamer was very readable in going down to his feet. Not a criticism as such the goal was utterly Koncheskys fault and the keeper is always massively second faviourate in that situation I just think Kaspers technique would of given him a better chance of stopping it. Nothing he could with Downings. Aside from that he had little but basics to do. Putting a flip side on this Hamer love in I don't think Kasper would of done any worse than he has that's for certain. robbieLOVESthealmightylcfc Posted 21 December 2014 Share Posted 21 December 2014 hamer has been good but a goal like carrols yesterday was exactly the kind of time kasper saves us, it was literally identical to leeds away last season, konch playing a terrible back pass from the exact same position putting mcCormack but kasper comes out does the big starfish jump thing, saves it, we go on to win 1 nil

Saying he would have saved Carroll's goal is really clutching at straws. In almost 200 appearances he's only made one similar save at Leeds away last season. He would've committed too early with a clown star jump and left an easy finish.
